I have ordered my R8 in manual , but anybody here have experience driving both and have an opinion on why manual or rtronic would be a better fit in this car ?

I really don't think you can go wrong either way.
Tiff needel of 5th Gear mentiones that it costs £5.200,- and is only half as fun:)

I drove both..Manual is more precise than my RS4.I prefered manual.I had a little bit problem with r tronic in auto mode with upshifts and down shifts during turns in corners.R tronic needs excercise i think.

I have tested both manual and R-tronic versions.

R-tronic is more comfortable, because sometimes you are lazy / relaxed to switch the stick. But for the racing situation manual is better, because R-tronic sometimes shifts unexpectedly when cornering. For myself I would prefer R-tronic, because I see this car both for racing and daily driving.
