Was heading to Birmingham Airport today to pickup a friend and was in my A8 4.2 outside lane cruising at 85mph-ish. And in my mirror i saw the familiar front of the new XF.
Quickly i got my cameraphone and handed it to the passenger to get some pictures, and although there not great i thought you guys might like to see them.

I pulled into the middle lane to let it through and it stormed past doing about 110mph.

I have to say i was really impressed by the looks of the thing although i wasnt that impressed by the pictures they seem to have done a great job and it looks really special. Maybe its like the A5, in that it looks much better in the flesh. And it had a key ingredient i havent seen in a jaguar for years... Road presence.

Jaguar are local to me in Birmingham so i expect its a journalist picking it up from Castle Bromwich (production line) to take it down to London to review ect.

By the way the registration was VE07 i think so look out for it in Autocar, Car, Topgear or Evo next month !!!

Nice catch !

You should give it a little run, just to see what is made of... :D

I, still, don't like it, but maybe I will change my mind when i see one in person...

I did chase it for a bit but this driver was seriously going for it. Dont know who it was but they had a heavy foot, and i wasnt going to go over 100mph at 2.30pm in the afternoon, especially not on that road. Speed cameras everywhere.

The XF seems very comfortable to cruise at high speeds but so is my A8 i just didnt want to loose my licence!
The grill and headlights are pretty menacing when they come up in your mirrors.

If only i'd been in the RS6, then we'd have given it a run for its money :)

Why not report the driver to the Sun ... I can read the headline now ... 'reckless car tester using public roads to test .....'

:)
