I think that I will change my mind when I see the pics from different angels http://www.germancarzone.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

What interests me the most, is how much did they change the interior.

I know lol. Same here. I hope to god that it does not look anything like the image in this post. If so, the b8 a4 is more like a 'refresh' to the b7.

The pic really seems to be the final deal.

tomorrow the new ams (auto motor sport) comes out. on their site is a preview of the issue with the same pic on the cover http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/heft/mpsmag_mag_%20500199_13996.hbs

I think we all were misled with the date (today, 28th ), when the official info will be available. Tomorrow it has to be at the latest , as the car mags are out (or today evening)

+1 - Unimpressive exterior design. Lets hope for the interior to be something more than a refresh.

So far I can see:

- The grille is more distinct and more like the A5, less strips.
- Headlights are changed with a more A5 look including LED strips
- Bumper looks chunkier with more distinct lines and A5 influence
- Mirrors look chunkier and rounder, indicators included.
- Nicer wheels
- Side profile looks better with A5 cues again

As I said before, I think it'll look much more refreshed and like the A5 on the road, which is a great thing. But yeah I agree that it looks more of a facelift than a new generation...

Maybe the colour makes me like it too, I think the red looks great. If you look at my sig you can tell I love red cars, it very much depends on the type of red though...

Everytime i look at this, i just can't get the picture of a VW Passat out of my mind. Those head lights remind me too much about taht car ? . I'm dissapointed!

BTW. Check: http://www.nieuweaudia4.nl/ - The date (28/8-2007) has been removed from the text now ?

- Chrome grill outline still looks to 'thick'. Should be 'thin' as the A5's outline. :nana:
- Headlights looks like someone photochopped the R8's headlight assembly into the B7 A4's headlight frame. :noshake:
- Diffuser below the grill looks very photochopped.

Wow, you're right. Maybe the difference in the grille outline is to seperate the saloon and coupe, but I agree the A5's thin outline is better!

I agrere about the headlights to some extent and I fully agree with what you said about the diffuser. I think some image quality has been lost too, maybe that's contributing to our doubts.

I think too helps confirm it's offical. Here's shots Audi released of the new A8 4.2TDi. Notice the background is the same...

Yeah I agree. I actually thought I heard the S5 pics were accidentaly leaked. OR maybe Audi just wanted to hurry up because BMW already have the M3...Maybe the RS5 will be sooner than we think...

Sounds like a nice car...:cool2: The torque will definately be on par with that of a S4 and then you have the consumption of a diesel ! I'm not sure about your prices though, will a 3.0TDI really cost 65k even in euro ?

I noted one interesting aspect of the new A4 over the A5.

Originally by WCF
As fast as a professional rally driver –Audi dynamic steering

The new A4 features yet another pioneering technological development: Audi dynamic steering. Its key element is a superimposed gear system that alters the overall ratio according to road speed and the chosen Audi drive select setting. This concentric-shaft steering gear is extremely compact and light in weight; it has a precise action free from any slack. It was first developed for use in robots and for space travel applications; the expedition vehicles on which it was installed have already traversed the surface of the moon and Mars.
Audi dynamic steering makes the steering ratio more direct at low speeds, with a higher level of power assistance. This renders the steering extremely light when manoeuvring, and only two turns of the wheel are needed from lock to lock. As the car’s speed increases, however, the steering ratio becomes gradually less direct and in parallel with this the amount of power assistance is reduced. At high motorway speeds the A4 can therefore be driven smoothly and has excellent straight-line stability.
Audi’s high-tech steering can do even more. It is closely networked with the ESP and therefore receives precise information about the car’s attitude as the handling limit is approached. If the A4 threatens to oversteer, for instance after an abrupt avoidance manoeuvre, the steering performs slight corrective impulses in the direction needed to reduce this tendency. Such corrective action takes place faster than even an experienced rally driver could react. This rapid response means that brake applications are often not needed, so that the car continues its journey more smoothly and dynamically.
The system also takes action if the car understeers: it selects a more indirect steering ratio for a short time, the aim being to prevent the driver from turning the steering beyond the point at which the tyres still have plenty of road grip. With these capabilities, Audi dynamic steering represents leading-edge technology in this car market segment.
The optional-extra damping control permits individual suspension settings to be chosen. These are based on the lowered sports suspension. Continuously adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers permit the damping characteristic to be varied individually at each wheel. This means optimal contact between the tyre and the road in almost every situation, for greater safety and more dynamic road behaviour.

Yeah I seen it over at worldcarfans but was too busy to show you guys. I love the front & rear lights and also the mirror indicators. I think LEDs are a thing of the future and I'm glad Audi is starting to make them as an "Audi thing".

Also, interior looks great. Infact, the whole car does. I just wish it was even more different from the old A4. Still a great car though...
