Hi,
I would like to know if the RS6 and S6 share the same major components such as:
Block (I assume Auto and Manual are the same)
Crank
Conrods
Heads
Oil Pump
Valves
I know that the camshafts will be different and also possibly the pistons (due to CR) as one is NA and the other forced.
Reason I am asking is I would like to source a C5 S6 V8 4.2 to build as I intend to convert my RS6 to a 6 speed manual and at the same time taking advantage of the new strength and efficency of the 6 speed i will be upgrading other supopurt systems such as turbos, fuel system, camshafts etc and would like the engine built before i take my car off the road to minamise down time.
I appreciate if anyone has detailed information or can point me to it.
