hi, does anyone know what the performance stats (0-60 and/or 1/4 mile time) should be for an APR-chipped rs6, also modified exhaust and air cleaner, running on 100 octane, putting out around 530-540 hp (dyno-tested) ? ? ? thanks...

tsx500- If you can get a 60ft time under 2.000 then i dont see why you shouldnt run a 12.5/12.6 maybe even lower on a crisp cold night.

OCT USA - Hi how you been? I am very impressed with the RS6 that has run 12.4@111 what are the specs of this car?

I just had my car chipped and have a total g/s of 440 if that means anything

Great! I think that person has a O.CT Software and Milltek catback.

OCT USA - That is a very fast RS6. Are you able to explain what total g/s can be used to determine or approximate?

I know some say hpx0.8=total g/s but how accurate is this?

It really depends. Sometimes a tuned car can read about the same g/s as a stock car. While in some cases I have seen an oiled MAF causing the MAF to read too high as well.

Sorry to ask this but what is g/s?
As soon as you tell me, I will subconsciencely mutter to myself "Duh!!"

ben916 - g/s is the measurement of how much air per second the engine is ingesting

Gulps per second? Just kidding... and no, I didn't have the "Duh" thought...

Thanks!

grains per sec

Uh,. . . pretty sure that would be grams per second, it is a MASS airflow sensor (MAF).

Density of air at 70deg F (20dec C) 1 bar = .001204g/cc, since it is under 0.8 bar of boost, density should be= .00217g/cc = 2.17g/L

440 g/sec ÷ 2.17g/L x 60sec/min x 2rev/4.2L* = 5800 RPM's:deal:
(* takes 2 rev's to get 4.2 L of engine displacement)

RS6-4dr911 - Not sure what that formula means but my peak g/s was at 6200rpm according to Vag-Com

It mainly means I was bored and looking for the gearhead's equivalent of a crossword puzzle. :D

Actually just wanted to verify that the value was in fact measured in grams/sec. The 5800rpm answer is close enough to your reading of 6200rpm to show it is correct. Variances in temperature, humidity, altitude, etc. can easily explain the 400rpm difference.:revs:

tsx, I have chipped mine as well. No exhaust and only other thing i did was the air cleaner from k&n. My best time is 13.1 at 109. Cannot get under 2.00 seconds for 60ft, which means launching the car is interesting. That is on 93 octane. Once it cools off i will try the 100 octane and some different launch techniques. Bring your vehicle to indy, every tuesday evening for $15 you get as many runs as you would like at Orielly Raceway Park..

just curious, are u only supposed to use the 100 octane during cooler weather ? is it harmful to use 100 above a certain outside air temp/humidity ??? thanks

Dab - Mind if I ask what program you have? (APR, GIAC etc).

Dab - Well once my car goes on the dyno to make sure everything is upto spec and power I will be taking mine back to the track to try and improve on my 13.07@105.5mph when it was stock.

I hope to run 110/111MPH but the ET will be determined by how well I can get it across 60FT marker.

Mine is a standard Avant apart from faulty DRC it did 12.945 @107.14mph with a 2.027 60' time so I would expect with another 100bhp you should be able to take about a second of that time with a trap speed of circa 117mph
