should be ok, but the subframe mountings are different.

More than just sub mounts. You'll actually have to moddify the floor! The tranny is to big for the firewall/floor panel. You'll have to do some cut/weld. Not worth it. Not worth it at all. Best bet is a modded 2.7T manual tranny. Every bit as strong as the RS 6 autobox... :cheers:

just to be clear, there are 2 types of quattro auto tranny for the a6, the 01l and the 01v. the 01l is basically the rs6 transmission , the 01v isn't and is a different zf model.
however, i have checked, and audi fitted different floors for these respective 6 and 8 cylinder models.

I believe he was talking about auto to auto. But I was just informing it would not fit and would end up spending even more $$$ than an auto to manual conversion. And the manual would be the better conversion...:cheers:

maybe i'm in a minority but i quite like the auto tranny - the one in the rs6 is pretty good (better than the same "model" in my old s8), especially driving fast in "sport" ....

Actually, I am on the same boat. I'm too "lazy" to shift in a car. Give me an auto. But... the manual is a "better" tranny enthusiast wise...
Besides, I shift plenty on my 600RR...:revs:

The rs6 gearbox is a similar 5hp24 found in most V8 powered cars of the same vintage. the 6 cylinders use a 5hp 19.

Anyone used levelten upgrade onm the auto tranny in here ??
is there something simular here in europe ??
I have read on PES supercharger`s hompage that they ca send your gerabox to germany for a reabuild to take 600 hp ??
