Hi

Wondering what the difference is between the RS6 and RS6+ engine whether is is a simple tune difference or different cams etc.

If it a tune difference then why do some tuner's offer the RS6+ a higher "chipped" output that the normal RS6?

I believe the Plus has a water-air intercooler (the intercoolers themselves are cooled by a water ciruit), also found on the warm weather package.

Yeah i was aware of that my car also has the extra radiators behind the intercoolers but they dont cool the charged air they are to provide extra engine cooling

Water-air intercooler? My RS6 is equipped with warm weather package and when I did the upgrade of Sportec intercoller, I didn't any water circuit around the intercooler! Do you have any picture ot link to prove it? I thought just the size of the interlooer and oil cooler.

Mechanically the Plus engine is the same, it's software changes that make more power. The additional radiators mounted behind the intercooler, function as additinonal engine cooling radiators. They were installed on most US model RS6.

I am surprised that the only difference between the two cars is software. OK, in Europe there is additional cooling radiators but as this is already on US cars there is no other differences at all. It does make a mockery of the money difference that was charged extra for the RS6+, it looks to me that Audi were charging £500 for the software and the other £6500 for the warranty.

not the only difference....

as far as motor goes, they are the same. different software. there is no water circuit for the intercooler, just the 2 additional water radiators which were fitterd to the later standard cars anyway,

however, there were differences to the suspension ("super sports" i.e. ride height), and they had the sports exhaust standard with the no-chrome package, and the perforated discs standard.

OK, fair point. I will recalculate, £500 for the software, £500 for the suspension and £2K for the exhaust and discs and of course £3.5K for the warranty. :D

But I forgot one thing that makes the £3.5K you are paying for the warranty all the more worth it, the fact that the limiter has now been set at 175mph. :D

It appears I am wrong. I think I must've misinterprited "extra water coolers" at some point.

don't remember seeing one - some of the tuners would list two RS6 engines to tune but results are same ....

warm weather package had nothing to do with engine cooling or anything drive train related. ....

the RNS-E is also in the RS6, I have one. It depends just on the year and month it is build. From 4/04 they have all the RNS-E in Germany.

The RS6+ has a different leather in series, the brake with punched discs, the black optic package, the coolers (warm countries), the chip, the sport Exhaust, the 19 inch rims, the metal onlays on the pedals and so on.
