Do you go there often? ;)

Gustav and I toasted a Boxster S in his M3 on the highway.
Many times too! Great fun! :D

Well maybe with this 3.4L 996 (300Hp) Powered Boxster you would have a hard time to pass me, in your friends M3 ;)

Love this car, itīs fun fun fun. :)

J.Seven
On the left is a 996 Carrera 2 Cabrio friends car. Yes, mine is faster. :D

Gabriel, I think he meant the other Porsche...

Gustav's M3 is not E46 btw.

J.Seven
November 18th, 2002, 21:30
Yes Gabriel, Iīm sure

6900rpm in 5 gear :D and full gas tank.

And Erik B, I was refering to the Boxster as being the fastest, not the Carrera with hardtop on the left.

That's what I thought too.

How the  did you fit a 996 3.4l in the Boxster?

Is it as hard as it sounds or easy?

J.Seven
November 18th, 2002, 21:44
Itīs easy, lots of German companies are making this. Itīs a two/three working days job. New headers, exhaust and some other mods are necessary, but those parts are already in stock, thatīs way itīs so fast. Have it for the last two and half years, with zero problems. FVD, RUF, TTP, Gemballa, PSI MOTORSPORT are only some of the companies who makes it.

Gabriel343, do you have any pics of your OWN car doing this speed?

J.Seven
November 18th, 2002, 21:52
Bothe engines 2.5L and 3.4L have the same volume. Only difference is that 3.4L engine ia just a bit taller, round about 8cm. New gearbox mounts are needed, intake is also modified and motroni box is from the 996 engine.

Sorry, this M3 is not mine. My friendS of Roma take 303 km/h without speed limit (M3 E46) and 290 (M3 3.2 E36).
270 the firm Boxter to or mistake? :D

Gabriel343
November 18th, 2002, 23:19
All tuner declare 290 effectives without speed limiter. My M3 in fifth speed it indicates 265 to 8000 rpm

Sql
November 18th, 2002, 23:28
i think that it is not that obvious that you would say goodbye to the RS4 while driving your M3. two days ago i met an M5, we had a nice race but he did't have chance to keep up with me although i know he tried. he was close during the first and a bit of the second gear but later it was just "bye bye M5"

Gabrielle, check this out:

Also, you should consider a compressor maybe?
Have seen it on other E36s.

You should consult johann at bmwm5.com, he'll be able to help you.

M3 303 indicate to you, effective are approximately 290. You can ask anyone has removed the limiter, Is it truth, if tasks that in fifth pass the 260. Me it seems very good, we are speaking about 3200 atmospheric , while the RS4 is 2700 biturbo. Escuse me for the bad english

He drives it on the Ring well too.

Check this out...note that this is with heavy traffic and passanger. It's the silver M3 E46 in case you ask.

No, this power is satisfactory. My friends want to exceed 400 hp with its Escort, we will see. He is tuning with: turbo T4 on bearings (do you know? Turbonetics it's the same), CPS pistons, injectors like mine (Weber Ferrari F1 - directly from Maranello, everyone 400 euro), bang bang, clutch AP Racing, exhaust inox manifolds.......

It's all a matter of choices/preferences. owkay the RS4 is a little less exciting on a track, but on the other hand it's safer and better for all-day use : more space, 5 doors, discrete, nobody can deny that. so I think Audi made the right choice, they're just aiming on another group of potential costumers, which is far the majority since i'm sure 90% of the people never uses his car tho go trackdriving:cheers:
