I am looking for an RS6 and want to chip it but dont want to pay 3,000 for a chip. Which chip is a good deal and still can put out 520HP. Also would bypassing the center resonators on the Stock Sport Exhaust give me the performance of a after market exhaust without it being way to loud.

easy answer: O.CT for $2000. i think it's slightly over 500 HP but has torque galore.

resonators don't really restrict any flow. it's purpose is to help reduce the decibles. try revotechnik.com it's under a grand and DEFINETELY gets the job done. =)

fyi, my dealer sells Revo. if yours does, that could be a plus if there are any issues. it also is a flash program - so no ECU removal required.
however: Revo is an engine chip only, not tranny chip. i don't know of any tranny failures for Revo-chipped cars, but most people say (rightly or wrongly) that not chipping the tranny is risky.

Yes, you must change the tranny chip as well. I can only recommend to change also the tranny oil more often (like every 50 000 km). Otherwise, be ready to buy rs6 trannies...

I would highly recommend a tranny trip to utilize the full potential.
tranny chip even w/o engine chip, helps. I'd use MTM - sufficient track record :thumb:

How about a chip that only removes the top speed limiter without adding any power as to endanger the trans?
