Will the 2008 be a triptronic or stick ?...anyone know for sure ?

I'm would like to purchase( going on a list ) either a 2008 RS6 or 2008 RS4
I want a stick shift
Issues : is the triptronic on the 6 as fun as a stick ?
will the engine on the 4 be upgraded with a turbo within the next several years.

Tiptronic isn't ''fun'' as manuall gearbox, but RS 6 is going to be VERY powerfull car, so ''fun'' is garanted. :thumb:
RS 4 as it is now is going to be on offer until the end of 2007, new A4 is coming out in september, so new RS 4 is going to be with us, 2009 perhaps...
Maybe you schould focus on the up-coming RS 5, it's very possible that it is going to have 4.2 V8 turbo motor, and manuall transmission.

Like Andy says, if you want a stick shift then look at a RS4 or better still, wait for a RS5 where you will have a choice no doubt between a manual and a S-Tronic.

I will be getting a 4 door ( RS5 is out )
My concern is that the RS4 is too small/uncomfortable for 5-10 hour road trips.
I'm quessing that the RS6 will have paddles ?...are paddles fun ?...as an alternative to having a stick.
I like the look of the upgraded S8...however the transmission looks boring.
The S8 however works well where I live ( in the Mountains )
RS5... too different from what I already have
RS4....maybe to small
S8 .... maybe to boring
RS6... maybe a good fit

Either the S8 or RS6 will impress, especially the RS6.:hahahehe:
As for the gearbox not being a manual, when you do get to drive the RS6 you will see that with all the torque that the RS6 will have the fact that it is an auto will be the least of your concerns. Trying to keep your license will be your bigger concern.:hihi:
