This might depend on the market place, in the UK the first small engine will be the 1.8 with valvelift but no doubt the others will follow.

Don't comment something you don't know anything about!

The 2.0T FSI, will not be an option in the A5.

Later this year the 1.8T FSI will be introduced. It will produce 170hp at 5000rpm, and 250nm of tourque. This engine is by the way not fittet with valve-lift, and it's supposed to take over where the now (very) old 1.8T left.

Regards.

Quite right, it doesn't have valvelift. I remember reading something in WCF a while ago about this new engine and thought it was the one with VL but it was the new 2.8L unit.

THX for response. :thumb:

Is it going to be Quattro version, or just front wheel drive...

And what do you think about transmision options for that A5 1.8 T ?

Andy,

The 1.8TFSi will only be fwd and be offered with either Multi-tronic or manual. Well at least in the very near future, until the ful line up of options are known for the new A4 the line up in the A5 will be basic.

Actually, a 2.0T FSI with 211hp will be in the range from spring 2008, i just got confirmed today (maybe a little late they tell me ).

Regards.

Ps. i'm proberbly going to sign up on a A5 later this year (in stead of the Q7).

As I said, differing markets will get differing engines at or near launch date, in the UK it's a 1.8TFSi.

So it is in all of Europe. As i said before. I think we are sharing the same view..

1.8T FSI 170hp i Europe fourth quarter this year. 1/2quarter 2008, the 2.0T FSI 211hp will be introduced, possibly around the same time as the A4 Avant will be revieled.
