.... for a while.

Sibling rivalry.

Volkswagen will launch a 350 hp version of its V10 Tdi Touareg in September this year, to breifly take the crown of most powerful production diesel SUV away from the Q7... for now.

Rumours of it being called "R50" cannot be confirmed.

As far as i know the V12 tdi q7 is a concept car. We`ll have to wait a few years to be introduced.

Not confirmed as the sources I have work in Quattro GmbH and not Audi direct so it what they are hearing in much the same way as you or me. But every UK magazine has been stating the Q7 V12TDi's launch date as spring next year for months now and they were spot on with every other launch date so far.

as far as we know from factory Leadie is correct, orderable perhaps B 4 YE (at least for the dealers) ... we shall see. Wonder what the price tag will be, 4.2 tdi is not cheap ...

The 4.2TDi is commanding a £10K increase over the 3.0TDi, that a lot of extra cash for what it is. There looks to be no extra equipment over the 3.0TDi apart from possibly bigger brakes and a beefed up gearbox.

I think Audi of America has already confirmed the Q7 6.0 TDI. There were also spy pics of it during cold weather testing, with the biggest brakes you've ever seen in your life.

I hope they put that engine is something a little less vulgar than the Q7.

Note the non-fake airscoops in the bumper, with heavy duty cooling hardware.

Yes, it seems that new VW managment wants to keep Touareg V10 on the market as only V10 diesel...

So this 350 hp looks realistic to me.
