HAHAHA....I know it's wrong to laugh but...I just couldn't help it. Glad to see he's semi-ok, it could have been a lot worse.

That would be what us bike guys call a squid... show respect for the bike and wear proper gear.

That said... A kind gentleman by the name of Mike Thompson died Sunday on a group ride at the Ortega... He always wore proper gear but liked to run with the fast group. Very experienced rider, but just too many variables (unseen gravel on road, potholes, etc...) to be riding balls out on public streets. Unlike the squid in the above pic, Mike valued life and family (his wife also rides and was there with him riding her bike that day). He was part of the local So Cal bike club. Only got a chance to meet him once, only once...

He leaves behind a wife and two daughters...

Please be carefull out there.

I guy in my work goes on charity bike rides more than three times a year, big events with over 500 bikers and he would tell you that there is hardly an event goes by without someone getting killed. The problem usually is other road users, there just not enough education for car drivers with regards to bikers on the road.

Seeing how the first guy has a cage around his engine, he looks like he's part of a stunt team. A lot of them guys stop wearing helmets unless an event requires them to. Sorry to hear about your friend Benman.

I agree he's part of a stunt team, but seeing professional stunters in person, they wear gear. Always vastly better to do so...
