Interested if anyone has the specifications or real world experience with what the standard RS6 turbos are capable of running boost and HP wise.

Also interested to see if a constant boost pressure can be run for example 1.0bar from the time the car hits boost until close to redline?

yes, by design. boost is controlled based on a number of variables: ambient temp, intake temp, knock, pressure & actual boost against targetted boost.

peak boost is 0.8 bar absolute.

I know some programs run 1.0bar

SKIWI: I knew those conditions must be satisified in order to attain max standard boost.

I want to know if anyone knows the boost that the standard turbos are effcent upto and the max efficent boost that can be held until redline.

Quick500: Knew that also thanks.

So no-one knows the potential of the standard turbochargers?

if you want a definitive answer, you will need to go to b/w and request a map....

It's a variant of the K04... I've heard it called K04-plus.

you need to be careful here to avoid confusion. the k04 is used in the b5 rs4 (the b5 s4 uses k03), and the tt 225, and the rs6. there are model-sepcific differences that affect the housing (and by definition reflect the fitment to the vehicle in question), and there are specific turbo differences to reflect what the turbo is required to do.

the oem k04/rs4 and k04/rs6 turbos are different as the rs6 model uses a larger cold-side compressor - specific to the car (as is the rs4's). you can also replace the cold-side with a k16 or k24 impellor to provide more boost. i believe that is what mtm and others do for their hi-po applications.

i believe that there are other changes as well - i would expect a different temperature limiter design to reflect the increased heat and soak with the rs6 over the rs4. i know the rs4 had a much different temp limiter design over the s4. i would also expect different shaft design to assist with the above issues as well as longevity...
