Hi!
I am my waiting for my RS6 from 3 months. But I can's understand till now with what features does it come to U.S.
Recentley I have read this article in the Audi's site:

Other standard amenities include: a Bose® sound system with Symphony II Radio, tire pressure monitoring system, front and rear Parktronic™, Xenon Plus headlights, automatic headlight washers, Servotronic®, power sunroof, memory function for front seats and mirrors, power adjustable steering column, dimming interior mirror, dimming and folding heated exterior mirrors with memory, HomeLink® remote transmitter, and a split-fold rear seat with armrest and pass-through ski sack.

Please tell me will it come to U.S. with this features?

(By the way when the car will arrive I will tell you how to put an navigation (like in European models)/ When I will be done, I will send you the Pictures. I have an A6 4.2 and I have already tested it on it.

khoren,

welcome to the forum. evrything you mention sounds about
right with the possible exception on the parktronic and the
tire pressure monitor system (which are under debate if we
are getting those features for sure). other than that we'll be
getting them pretty much the way you described:cheers:

The latest RS 6 Specifactions posted by Audi, and the Spec. sheets that came in the RS 6 US customer Portfoilio, do not include the Tire Pressure Monitoring System, or the Front Parktronic.

Jimmy I believe that you are correct. It's a real shame about the tire pressure monitoring system, I don't understand the loss of it other than cost. It is also disappointing that a car at this cost level will also not offer satelllite radio either. I really like the RS 6 club website but why not a webcam at several of the assembly sites? That is low tech stuff now you would think that businesses like automotive manufacturers would pick up on technology that would help sell cars and maintain owner loyalty. Also, it was really disappointing to lose the Recaros in fact that is probably the most disapppointing factor of all. Does anyone know of anyother auto company that imports cars to the US that has Recaro seats?

What is more insulting is the fact that the S4 will get Recaros! Why can't they put the S4 Recaros in the RS6?

Len Hunt included a very nice letter in the US RS 6 Portfolio. The message - "Isn't life with an RS 6 wonderfull". I encourage each of you send a quick note telling him how wonderfull you think the de-contented US RS 6 is vs the RS 6 the rest of the world gets to enjoy.
Jfrocke - I asked the same question a couple months ago. If the new S4 Recarros were approved , why can't they be used for the US RS 6? My Audi Sales specialist could not get an answer from AoA!

i recommend all of us in this Forum should write a letter to AUDI OF AMERICA, explaining why we are so mad and why they are going to put the recaro seats in the future S4 and they also explain how it is safe for the S4 and not for the RS6. So they can read how all of us are still waiting for the RS6 to come with it's orginal features. I my self are so disagreeing, besides the fact i went to the delaer and they said becouse of The safety they are not going to put on the RS6, they can put it on S4 A8, and the reason they claim is becouse it is not SAFETY, IM SO PISSED OFF I THINK ALL THIS THEY HAVE BEEN SAYING , AND STILL CLIAM ALLT HIS B/S.
IF YOU GUYS HELP ME AND YOURSELF BY WRITTING A LETTER TO AUDI OF AMERICA, THAT WILL HELP ALL OF US HAVE WHAT WE ORGINALLY WANTED. AND I ALSO DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY HAVE THOSE FEATURES AVAILABLE TO THE ASIAN PACIFIC , AND NOT FOR US IN U.S.A.:argue:

Khoren, I am pretty much with you, I don't think that we have received an appropriate explaination of the change in the standard features ( which is what based our decision to lay our cash down ). Particulary the loss of the Recaro seats is troubling. I think that Audi should provide us with the law and who the inspecting body is that is denying the use of the Recaro s or the basis behind the decision. I was first told that the pricing should be in the mid 70's . It is obviously still a great car but why not let it be as great as it should be !

I understand your frustration, and I would prefer the Euro recaros also- But I believe the reason we aren't getting them is that the seats have to be federalized in EACH car in which they are bring brought over- This would require crash testing another RS6, something AoA must not be willing to do.

It is very unfortunate that we're not getting the same amount of goodies the other countries are.
I will wait to see how 'hot' this car really is in the US before making further bigger deposit.

So far, I think I'm getting it, just still wrestling with color, since that seems to be the only option left to choose.

The seats I can understand because of federal agency red tape. What I miss is the NAV+ and the ability to choose each individual option as you can in the UK.

Well, Europe only gets 2 years warranty. You get 4 years...that's what I call a real goodie worth a lot of money.

keep in mind also that we in the U.S. are actually getting the
car for CHEAPER than in other countries. i'm even talking about
Germany as well. with the current exchange rate the SAME car
with 18" (not 19"s) wheels and NO NAV+ is over $90,000.00!!!
and that's in the RS6's HOMELAND!!! not to mention the fact
that audi is shipping the car over here AND federalizing the car
for our stupid laws. or perhaps some of us would prefer that
audi not bring the RS6 here all together like with the RS2 and
RS4. i for one understand some might be a little dissapointed,
but as for me: MAKE MINE RS6:cheers:

Your right Benman. I think though that Audi kind of set themselve up for people being a little upset by giving their dealers A. wrong information or B. little or no information concerning how the car would be configured when it made it over here. Still a great car for the money but I sure wish it had the Recaros. :addict:

Okay, so given the issue that this stuff can still be had for a price, if we can find somehow a way to bring it from Europe, how hard can it be to install this stuff?

The 19" wheels for example should be easy, but most likely we'd rather go aftermarket for a more personalized look.

The Full Nav System can also be installed I assume, since it's been done on a few S4s.

The seats, it really can't be that difficult to get as well, but the problem is if it's going to match what you already have for rear seats,...otherwise, we'd have to get the rear setup as well.

How much you guys thing the seat setup and Full Nav would cost? Another $6K?

Hmm...maybe RS6.com should start selling Recaros and I could retire by 35 :D

Regarding the Navi there are many aftermarket systems that are far superior Audis. You'll get a lot more for less money.

I think I saw someone had a set of Recaro's for sale out of an Audi on the A6 Forum website and the cost was Prohibitive. :addict:
