I expect a lot more. Not feeling this coupe as much as some of the spy shots.
Rear a bit too much like BMW 3-series. Looking bloated much like all BMW cars. A bit disappointed. Could be this picture though.

I must say that the head-on view of this car is bitch'n. But I do see similarities in the bonnet lines and wheel arches with the new 3 Series Coupe which isn't really a bad thing.

Bingo.

And Gustav's comment about the "M335i" hits way too close to home on this car. Audi has gone the way of Bangle on this car...

Ben,

I personally rate the new 3 Series Coupe Bangle's best design to date and in the fresh is a truly beautiful car, though it's not as pretty as the new A5. Yes it does have Bangle details about it but the only thing wrong with his designs were that they were ahead of their time and now every designer is using elements of his in their own designs.

This thing looks menacing!!! but still a bit tame (queue RS5).

I would like to see one in Metallic Gray!!! That aluminum front diffuser compliments the front end very well. It's still a bit more conservative than i wanted it to be, but i bet a nice interior / exterior combination might do it justice!. I can't believe that it took 3real life pictures to grow on me so fast. Ah well, i am will always be a sucker for audi design...

I agree that the new 3 coupe is less ugly compared to the other Bangle crap out there, but I'd hardly venture as far as calling it good. And yes, all other manufactures are now using his styling... unfortunately... but then, time heals all wounds... ;)

This brings to mind the song from the 50's vocal group Platters, entitled, "Smoke gets in Your Eyes" ;)

Looks great, although isn't there a little too much Lexus LS over the rear? A little bland IMHO..

I like it, a lot actually. It looks so much better than the press release photos, but as Erik said, the mirrors look a bit too large.

Cheers all,

Javier

The front is just sick, however the rear seems very similar to BMW's 335i. These pictures are awesome btw, imagine how the car will look in black!

I agree the mirrors are too big, they look like table tennis bats. The RS4 has lovely mirrors.

I hope this is a case of Autoexpress doing a piss-poor job of finding out the expected RRP of the new A5 range.

Base Model .... £40K
S5 Model ....... £55K
RS5 Model ..... £70K

That would be a increase of £18K on the S4 for the S5 and £20K on top of the RS4 for the RS5. Me thinks they made a boob.:p

We all know the S5 is amazing to looks, but how will it really compare in the performance department with the main competition, the 335i.

I'm a bit fearful to tell you the truth.

Check this out and see why. Alas you won't enjoy.

If I have good reading, I understand this 335i is chiptuned : that mean at least 360 hp ! Les 306 cv sont en réalité bien plus...

The S5 takes 5.2 sec for 0-100 kmph, and the 335i takes 5.5 sec. But the 335i is a turbo, so a chiptunning is really efficient !

Remind that the next M3 is a V8 atmo.

jrj2820,

It just friends rivalry. Think how boring it would be if all we discussed was which Audi was better than the other, all that will breed is internal arguments. All very sad and would spell the end of the site.

I think the talk of a totally new quattro system is a bit premiture. In none of the buff that Audi has leaked to the differing magazine does it state anything other than the diff at the front being moved forward. That is it.

I hope I am wrong but I doubt it.

5,500 feet of altitude is key. Turbocharged engines perform much better at altitude than naturally aspirated.

As I live at sea level this is news to me. But as most straights involve a corner at the end of them we will still be able to get in front again if needed.:D
