This week's Top Gear tested the TT among others and on the track Stiggy got it round in 1:31.4seconds, believe it or not 0.4seconds quicker than an :harass: M3. This is an amazing time and the quickest fwd car ever to be tested on the track, way to go Audi.:wo:

Thanks for that post!

Thats just amazing. Audi have done it again. They proves that you don't need 343hp to be fast round the track.

Do we need a TTS then? :lovl:

j/k - but it better has a lighter engine than the V6 ( -> 2,0 TFSI with 300 HP? ). we knew and see that power is not all, but that combo:

quattro + lightweight engine and horsepower, what will this one do to the competition?

Probably a 993 turbo, can not belive it's the time of a 420 hp 996 turbo 4x4.

With a big margin, YES! And it has 143 horsepowers less than the M3.

That is the same question, can't believe it's the time of the 343 hp BMW M3 E46.

I will answer all questions.

1/ 911 Turbo is a 996Turbo in the wet (very wet).

2/ M3 was in the dry and tested along with the S4 which set a time of 1:30.9

3/ Only the Porsche and the NSX where in the wet on the list shown by AudiAllroad. So it beat the 130i as well as the Z350 and Hamster thinks the RX8 is the better car around the track, looks like the crash has affected his judgement.

The Golf GTi did a time of 1:33 while the TT2.0 did it's in 1:31.4, now the R32 did it's time in 1:30.4, almost 3 seconds quicker than the GTi if you use this improvement for the TT3.2, it's time would be 1:28.7 only a few tenths slower than the CSL.:MTM: Now who said the TT was a hairdresser's car.:bye2:

That is what i don't understand.
Why is a R32 better and faster than the GTI and the TT 2.0T better than the TT 3.2 Quattro. ???

I think there is a bit of a misunderstanding here. Though the R32 is a lot quicker than the GTi, it's not the better car, it's steering and enjoyment is less the the GTi and the same goes for the TT2.0 and TT3.2. Magazines in the UK especially don't get the Audi Quattro systems in all forms, they agree that their grip is without question but find their efficiency sterile and un-involving, their words not mine. As for me, I get enjoyment in it's efficiency finding it amazing how effective it is at going round corners while I experience little drama. Going sideways is appealing but I am not an adrenaline junkie, it has to be done in the right environment which in my opinion isn't a public road.:nono:

The wife drives a GTi MkV and it's a total joy to drive, the steering is a little heavier than the Audi which is a good thing and though there is little sound from the engine that you could call enjoyable the way the thing goes is. Now when you think that the TT2.0 is an even sportier experience again no wonder their rate it so highly. I personally haven't drove the TT2.0 but I found the TT3.2 enjoyable and entertain especially with the magnetic ride suspension which aids the way the thing corners, but the engine is all sound (very musical) but little go or should I say it didn't feel that quicker.

I only hope that Audi get the TT-S right as personally I feel the TT3.2 not the animal I was hoping for. But back to the TT2.0, chew over those figures 1:31.4 that's 0.4 seconds quicker than the M3, a supposed great driver's car honed on the legendary Ring, equipped with the holy grail 50/50 weight balance and M-diff rwd and an award winning engine. I am not dissing the M3, I am showing what an achievement the TT is and if the rumors are correct what the A5 will be. Audi it seems is on a roll.:dig:

i just made a command for buying the new S3 and will arive some times soon and i just wait to drive it to the limit...super fast car and so stable (i saw that on TopGear) and now i decided this one will be mine...in the future probably if i get more money i will have the new S5 or even RS5...i think i adore it even that it hasn't arrived yet but i trust da Silva design challenge which says that the new A5 will be the most beautiful car he ever designed...super cool:)))
