Is it just my car or does the RS6 seem to have that constant"different" interior smell. Its almost like a leather type of smell but it is very distinct everytime you get in the car no matter how much air freshener you have.:addict:

It's from the passenger seats.....go easy when you have a friend in the car with you.

Interesting, could that "leathery" smell be coming from your leather seats by any chance?? :wo: :D

Not after 2 years..........That new leather smell discipates after time. Most cars have no scent after a period of time. This is a smell that lingers.Sorry for the wasted:dance: post its probably just my car..............

My car is 3 years old and I have the same smell, but don't care I love the smell of new car, whether the car is really new or 3 years old. And generally after putting my right foot down I dont think I'm really paying much attention to the scent in my car :cool2:

My car is 3 years old and the interior still smells of leather!!! Why not get yourself some liquid leather dressing from a company called Gliptone

and give your seats and treat then you will be sure of an everlasting real leather aroma? :addict: :bye:

Yes. It's not exactly like "new leather". Not entirely unpleasant, just different.

I've tried to get rid of it, but it just comes back. But it's not always there - just sometimes.

Sound similar?

I've had the local high-end restoration shop and the local Audi dealer check it out, and neither could isolate the source.

Personally I like the smell, which caused my cousin to remark "My God, this still smells like a new car!" Unfortunately it may not be that good for us, as indicated in this USA Today article:

Here's another piece -- a little technical, but in the 4th paragraph it suggests a link between excessive VOCs (volatile organic compounds) in a car's interior and a tendency for windows to fog up. Sound familiar?
