Ofcourse it's not as fast as a E60 V10. It only has 435 hp wich is a lot less than a M5. And it's AWD = not good at higher speeds. So it's not a surprise that it's slower..

In my opinion it goes pretty well, better than I expected actually!

:vgrumpy: OK, big deal the M5 is quicker in a straight line. I think we have went over this point, I think like most here that the S6 is a mighty quick car and a lot faster than most including me thought it would be.

One thing for sure, I wouldn't feel short changed having the S6 over the M5 and I still reckon that on the road it will prove to be the quicker point to point on anything other than a very smooth mostly quick cornered roads.:D

Thus the M5 vs S6 debate lives on.

If you want a great DRY weather car...sure M5 numbers are better...but don't get caught in the snow.

If you want a GREAT car you can drive in ANY weather....S6/S8 can't be beat.

By the way, when do we get to see a 2003 RS6 vs 2007 S6 comparison? If the 2007 S6 was a few tenths behind the M5 on a track, where would that put the 2003 RS6? Way the hell ahead of the M5, yes the V10 M5.

Agreed on all points.

As for 03 RS6 v 07 S6 comparo, I don't have anything formal as to measured times, but I can say from personal experience that the RS6 is to me still the quicker of the two. :rs6kiss:

We finally bit the bullet, so now own both cars. :wo:(Retiring my wife's Volvo S60R -- good riddance!) More comparisons to come in time.

She and I both love the new S6. :love2: Looking forward to seeing what happens after the break-in period is over. Being gentle for now.:incar:

You are probably right, but some of the reasons why the RS6 feels the quicker are that the S6 has a lot smoother automatic and the fact that it is N/A so no lag but more important none of the kick that the turbos spooling up gives you. I think when it is finally run-in the S6 won't be that far away, at least to 120mph.

You could well be right. I certainly hope so.:burnout:
