Guys,

I have recently raced the BMW M5 (V10) and the Mercedes E55 (Supercharged).

Front standing starts I beat both cars but the M5 was chasing me down very quickly.

Rolling starts I beat the E55 but the M5 simply walked all over me. What would it take to beat an M5.

The E55 was standard as is my car, the M5 i later found out had the filter, exhaust and chip done.

So overall i think i did well.

Nice!
Maybe chip and exhaust would help..

But from standstill --> How many Km/h did you do when the M5 passed you?

I don't think your RS6 is stock! All previous posts show E55 faster, if both are stock. If you won, you won, and congrats.

I must say that in a straight line sprint I would have thought that the M5 would have won both the standing start and the rolling start, especially as it does have Launch control but then again it does take time to set up. I have never seen a RS6 racing a E55 but have seen Best Motoring put a E55 against an M5 and it won every race so maybe you have a very quick standard car and the others especially the M5 were average at best considering the mods it had.

Moldowan: No dreamers are those who want one of these cars, my car has only had the rearmufflers removed for the sound I doubt it would make that much performance difference.

As stated the M5 is a quicker car but froma standing start it couldnt catch me due to wheelspin the launch control was used but the owner stated is a waste of time on street tires. The M5 had monsterous top end and was at my rear bumper from the standing starts the rolling start was another matter all together as the M5 simply pulled away. The E55 on the other was a closer race but i still beat it none the less.

i have a cls55 amg, a buddy of mine has a E60 M5 and another freind has a rs6.
In all of our races (at the track and on street) never has our buddys rs6 ever came close to beating our cars. standing-rolling whatever
best times for me at track was 12.48 M5 /12.72 / rs6 13.3
all rolling starts we crushed the rs6 and the M5 crushed me from 50-150.
so thats why I can't see how you obtained you victorys?
oh and e55's are faster than cls55.
now if your buddy wasn't in P500 mode with s6 tranny mode I could see that win.
or if the street was wet:eye:

anyway my point wasn't to call you a liar and I'm not. just pointing out that most races with these cars would and should result in a loss for the rs6. IMO

Maybe, he's talking about the last generation M5? If that's the case the RS6 should win. The E55 AMG, however, is a faster car.

No, quick500 clearly states that it was a (v10) M5.

Oops, my mistake. I didn't notice the (V10) after M5. In that case, I don't see how that could happen. Second-hand RS6 with tuning? Even still...

I know, I feel the same way, much as I hate to admit it the M5 would walk the contest easy. Even a tuned RS6 would have to be putting out at least 520hp to better an M5, if it did happen than if I was the guy in the M5 I think I would go and get some lessons on how to drive.

There is a clip on youtube where German Tuning TV is testing the new M5 vs the RS6 plus. On the autobahn the M5 is blasting away the RS6.
Only funny fact is that the RS6 plus goes up to 280km/h and the M5 is limited to 250 km/h :D

This should make you think how much tuning it would take to make the RS6 outbeat the new M5.
My conclusion is that IMHO you encountered some crappy drivers :D
