Hi

I heard from someone that Audi would not now be making the RS3. Can anyone confirm this or has anyone heard similar? It was rumoured to have the 3.2 v6 with twin turbos with 350bhp. Pity if they aren't now making it.

Thanks for any help or info.

I don't have any facts, but producing an RS3 would be the sensible thing to do when VW launches the R36 and BMW the 135i.

Don't think they are doing that so. VW's not going to launch R36 cos Golf's engine bay is not large enough to fit in the new engine, and just enough to fit in 3.2V6.
Also,Audi's not going to take the risk because they are going to have S3.

I can't comment on whether there will be a R36 in the current model but I was talking to the regional sales manager and he said that there will be a higher performance R32 this might be a 270~280hp version but this is to be expected by the end of this year or start of next year.

I don't believe that Audi will be launching a RS3 in current form, if the Gold is to be replaced next year then really there isn't any point. We might see a Sportier Version of the S3, with a possible 300hp.

maybe a bit less, around 250BHP, and the VW may have the same 3.2V6 with shortstroke and a new chip. Hope they are having a new exhaust pipe as well and fit with a chrome exhaust tip!

No need for RS3 as far as I can see. S3 should be sufficient enough.
