I am sure Monsieur Balsen, MTM France, will be able to help you out on that question.

I myself have tried Hohenester and MTM and can recommend both.
I have visited Sportec and it looked like a serious place as well.

I know very well Mr. Balsen, it's a friend.

But, I would like to compare all preparations and to have the opinions of each one

Thank you.

I would say either ABT or MTM, but these two will quite possibly be the most expensive and quote the least power increase and I again say quote.

Havn't tried any of them, but after reading what people think. I'd say MTM, Sportec or ABT. Just don't think you can go wrong with any of them...!

Hi,

Thank you for your all answers.

Could you be more explicit on your comments (power, newton/ meter, etc...) concerning each one of these preparers,

If it's possible, your personal experiment on your preparation for your RS6 ... :rs6kiss:

Thanks a lot for your comments.

MTM, but you schould consider ABT as well, after all, ABT is running Audis DTM team.

What is your experience with this first stage of MTM ? The increase in torque is quite large (560 to 690 Nm)
I am not quite sure whether the price MTM quotes (EUR 3.070,- + EUR 155,- assembly costs) is incl mwst. Can you tell us what you paid or have you bought the car as it is?

Sportec is quoting a price of 4.688,65 CHF which is equivalent to about 2.900 EUR, for the same performance. (Torque here is only increased to 615 Nm)

A short overview:

MTM
500 BHP
690 Nm
Vmax: ca. 298 km/h
0-100: ca. 4,5 sec.
Price incl. assembly : EUR 3.225,-

SPORTEC
500 BHP
615 Nm
Vmax: ca. 304 km/h
0-100: ca. 4,5 sec.
Price incl. assembly : EUR 2.920,-

ABT
505 BHP
630 Nm
Vmax: ca. 280 km/h
0-100: ca. 4,6 sec.
Price incl. assembly : EUR 3.629,50

HOHENESTER
503 BHP
640 Nm
Vmax: ca. 290 km/h
0-100: ca. ? sec.
Price incl. assembly: EUR 3.457,-

DIGIT POWER
500 BHP
660 Nm
Vmax: ca. 300 km/h
0-100: ca. ? sec.
Price incl. assembly: EUR 2.540,-

The torque figure from MTM is really attractive..:dig:
From the price perspective I would pick DIGIT POWER. Anyone experience with them? I have no idea whether they are also operating outside Switzerland, and as they are tuning almost 20 car-brands, I have no clue about their reliability neither.

Best regards

Yes, perfect

A lot of good information :thumb:

This comparative is very interesting and it's an answer for many of my questions.

Once again, thank you, thank you very much.

I have the O.CT tuning chip with other upgrades and have good results. Have used GIAC many times on b5 S4's with good results as well.

I have had O.Ct tuning in both of my RS6's. And was very happy with them.
However if I was in Europe I would have to say ABT as they are the only one that I know that will not void Audi's warranty

I think you are wrong there. On their website you can find that the manufacturer's warranty will be lost but that you will benefit from the ABT warranty, which in my opinion is just a bunch of words as it's only valid 2 years after 1st date of registration or 10.000kms. (but this will be the case with about every tuner)

Hey Chili,

I've read sth different in your thread "esp probs", there you are claiming your rs4 was broken 1/2 of the time. Was this before or after the chip?

Best regards

that's ok now, it had nothing to do with the chip, I had different size of tires in front and back and that gave the probs with the ESP.
I bought the car in 2e hand, it had back then 54.000km now I have 124.000km.
the chip was already on the car when I bought it.
cheers

Where are you located in Brussels? I am currently in surroundings of Leuven, and will be here a lot. Do you have some pics of your RS4? I was in the tunnels in Brussels last weekend and loved it (some crazy drivers there friday night), we should team up and hit the roads together sometime.

I'm going to go with O.CT for my RS6. FYI its price just was lowered to $2000US - maybe some of the others (MTM etc.) will follow suit?

Not in Europe unfortunately...price on OCT website is quoted at 3.180 EUR. I love their Gran Turismo Style catalog on the website :thumb:

Just received e-mail from Sportec: apparently removing the vmax limiter is not included in Stage 1 upgrade, thus making the total price more like EUR 3.900,-
