I got a call today at 15:00 from the nice saleswoman (Shheeeexy!) and she told me that my baby has just arrived! I was about 1.5 hours away from the dealer so I promptly forgot about everything, punched the accelerator with a big grin on my face and started homing in on the dealer.

I arrive, grinning like an idiot, people staring at me as if I had just smoked something, and she leads me down into their underground car park... whoa and behold (!!!) - there she is! Beautiful misano with black optics - perfect.

I learned then that in the one and a half hours since it arrived they had the time to finish the first 'arrival-at-the-dealer-inspection'. I checked her out, in my excitement I forgot to check if all the ordered options are there, but who cares. :rs4kiss: I'm set for visiting them again tomorrow morning so I'll get a cmaera or at least use my mobile phone to take some pics.

How I have to wait until Wednesday at the earliest, and Friday at the latest for the registration plates to arrive along with the insurance. I guess I'll need to get my tent out so I can sleep next to her in the garage while I wait. :wo:

Anyway - 2 suprises regarding the car once I get the pics tomorrow - haven't seen them on any RS4 so far on here so .....

The second surprise was supposed to be the black front Audi rings, but they couldn't get them off yet.

Didn't have time to stick around until they mounted the winter wheels which was supposed to be the third surprise - will have to take pics upon delivery on Friday.

The front Audi emblem is a big problem. :( It appears they have to remove the whole front bumper to take it off, which I told them not to do. So until I figure something out, no black emblem in the front. :cry:

BTW the windows are the factory Audi tint instead of double glazing (too bad you can't do double glazing + tint at the same time as on the Q7).

Jeez that is nice. I think a black Audi emblem at the front will be a bit much, with a black grille surround and all? I love the black badge on red at the back; how about a (reversed) RED emblem at the front? I think that would look amazing and wouldn't take much work. Still, its your car and no matter what, it will continue to look fantastic I'm sure. Great stuff so far.

We don't get the avant RS4 in South Africa for some unknown reason, very frustrating. Thank goodness the saloon looks nice too.

Actually I haven't thought about that earlier. Its a nice idea - I think it would look pretty good actually.

Anyway - whichever colour I go for - I first have to figure out if I can take it off without breaking anything without removing the bumper. The problem if I break it is that the emblem itself can't be ordered as a part (the front one at least) - have to buy the whole grill which is around 150 euros, kinda a waste of money for just the damned emblem...

Will probably decide to remove the whole bumper in January when I have more time on my hands...

Speaking of the red emblem - perhaps someone with enough skill could take one of my frontal pics of the car and photoshop the emblem black and red? Any magicians out there?

I'll stick by red. From further away, the black emblem will disappear altogether. On that BMW, the grilles are a lot smaller so its less overbearing. Still, both will prob look cool. Easier to find another blackoptics front 3/4 RS4 and black out the badge to get a better idea.

Mori, What an amazing Christmas present, when I saw the mobile phone pictures, I thought yuck, but with the decent camera beautiful, wouldn't use black emblem on front as there is no contrast, I would stay with silver or go red.. Enjoy the beast, amazing appearance but you are in for more treats!

One thing you need to know .. don't stop and start the car ... you need to let it warm up before you stop ... otherwise the plugs will foul up ....

Have heard this is to do with the FSI proving to much fuel when cold

Have fun ... I have only 200 miles on my car ... so painful ... no full throtle .. LOL

:incar: :incar: My first 400km trip home was a blast! I didn't get over 4K rpm until about 150-200km on the odo, then up to 5K for the next 100 and once up to 6K during the end of the trip while overtaking.

The car is simply wonderful. :bow: The suspension is amazing. I'm just at a loss for words how perfect this car is. I found one thing that I don't like though - fuel consumption. :hihi:

Oh - the in comparison to the 911 4S with engine package+sports exhaust - the RS4 exhaust is really quiet. Wish it was louder, but the V8 growl is amazing too so I'll just have to live with it. Joking aside though - amazing machine. :incar:

The Audi garage removed it when the car came. They probably just pulled it off like I did on my Golf some years back.

I have to get around to removing the front RS4 logo too, forgot about it earlier - it seems to be a clip on type so should be fairly easy.

Hi Everybody -:bye: Just joined your forum from the UK. Some of the UK lads will recognise me from the RS246.com site. I own a black/black RS4 B7 Avant. Just to say I absolutely love this car in this colour combination and can't stop looking at the pictures. I nearly ordered the same but decided black was the colour and now I wished I had gone this route instead. I would leave the Audi emblem in silver on the front as I think it looks cheap in black or red.

Thanks. They're a kind of love-hate type of wheel. Those are the stock Audi 8x19 RS4 Winter Wheels but painted by our Porsche dealer.

Sometimes I wish I had gone for the 9x19 winter wheels, but considering the tire would have to be 255/35 on them, I'm happy driving on thiner tires. :)
