Is the windshield on a RS6 the same as the A6.I recently had mine replaced and someone told me the rs6 windshield is thicker then the A6.Is this true or are they the same.Since it was replaced it seems there is more wind noise or maybe its my imagination but now I am thinking they put in the cheaper windshield.

no, same windscreen as the other a6 models. there is a thicker windscreen which can be ordered. this contains a aluminium shield in between the laminate... option "4gk" or "4kn" on your bill of materials...

Just had mine replaced I used a firm called Auto Glass, they are independant but they told me they had to get the screen from Audi direct.
It is the same as some A6's.

Im afraid I cannot tell you mate ! They are NOT expensive, my Insurance paid for mine as it had a stone chip on it. About $400 id say.

Had a quote for a new one at Month One of ownership.
Listing for A6 different from RS6.
Thicker glass.
Price diff three time higher.

there are at least 18 rs6 windscreens i can see on the parts database, depending on the combination of sedan/avant, tints and other factors there is also a vin break from july 04. they are all available for the a6 as well.
the only thicker windscreen is the one with the extra laminate. which was designed as part of the "warm weather package". fine if you want that, but you will need to have a radar that mounts behind the grill, as it won't work behind the windscreen.

I was only given two options here in UK, one for a car with warm weather pack and one standard ! Mines Standard.

Think I found the asnswer..........windshield for theRS6 and A6 8 cylinder is the same.The 6 cylinder A6 has a differnt windshield.I believe this is correct:addict:
