Currently there is a big amount of false info on some Audi forums(not here!) so, here are official Audi figures for R8(from R8 brochure and dealers guide):

0-100km/h: 4.6s
0-200km/h:14.7s
Max: 301km/h

These data are for manual and R-Tronic

Weight: 1560kg(manual)
1565kg(R-Tronic)

BTW, R8 should be able to reach 300km/h in less then 50s... According to internal dealers guide. Track times? Not out yet, but do not be suprised of R8 beats 997 Turbo on Klein Kurs Hockenheim. On Ring it will be pretty hard since it is more power track.
Any way Audi claims similar times as Gallardo.

So, R8 will be(or is!) faster then RS4. New M3(e92) will be close competitor for RS4, but IMHO not for R8. Some BMW fans are apparently under illegal substance influence...

First test in expected in German car press in March 2007.

hm... good times
R8 is faster than rs4 and new m3! 0-200 in 14.7 it is an excellent time

As we already know, Audi's times are on the conservative side so there is no doubt that some magazines will post even better times than this. I look forward to a 0~100Km/h of 4.3s and 0~200km/h of 13.8s, in other words the match of a M5/6 if only up to these speeds where the more powerful M will slowly pull away. But hey, who cares about the speed, at least with the R8 you will still look like you're going a million miles per hour even when you're sitting still.:p

Just for reference:

Road and Track: Audi RS4; 0-60 in 4.3 seconds; 1/4 mile in 12.8 @ 109 mph. Slowest American magazine time for the RS4 was 0-60 in 4.6 seconds [at 90 degrees and 2,000 feet elevation, which Car and Driver supposedly corrects for but still mentioned in the article] Well, Edmunds got a 0-60 time of 4.7 seconds, but they don't count.
