Rupert Stadler has been appointed new head of Audi as of 01/01/2007.
Replacing Martin Winterkorn who moves into the Hot Seat as head of VW group.

He's got some mighty shoes to fill.

Anybody know much about him.

Lateknight,

From what i've read on Fourtitude.com, it seems as though Stadler is a bit of car nut and not just a money-spinning-number cruncher, having graduated with a Business degree. What's also pleasing is that Winterkorn will remain as Chairman of the Supervisory Baoard so can keep a close eye on the goings-on at Audi. Also, he and Stadler are supposed to have a good working relationship with one another.

Yes, that is true that Winterkorn will remain Chairman of the Board of Audi AG, so I do not see a change of paths for Audi. Stadler is a close confidant of Winterkorn and Piech (both favoring Audi and ex Audi Czars), so I think this is good. Furthermore, most top positions within the VW - Audi Group will be filled with Audi chiefs. Piech favors Audi as well and I believe has Porsche focused on Audi as well.
