from BMW Press Release) Behind-the Scenes Tour of BMW in Munich and Breath-taking drive on Autobahn included in Fantasy Package
Woodcliff Lake, NJ - October 3, 2006... Christmas is coming early this year, as BMW and Neiman Marcus partner to create the ultimate driving fantasy. BMW is offering, exclusively through the legendary Neiman Marcus Christmas Book, the 2007 Limited Edition Individual M6 Convertible. The luxury convertible comes with a custom Ruby Black exterior finish accented with an interior with Piano Black trim elements, power sports seats wrapped in our custom Gold Brown shade of supple BMW Individual Merino leather, and M-radial spoke alloy wheel. The car also comes fully equipped with an incredible 11-speaker Surround Sound stereo and six-disc CD changer. Only 50 of these custom-made automobiles, including the once-in-a-lifetime driving experience, will be available for purchase in this year's Christmas Book for $139,000.

As if the car itself wasn't enough, BMW is offering these fortunate fifty Neiman Marcus customers the pinnacle of the "ultimate driving experience." Each gift opportunity features an exclusive European adventure in which the purchaser takes delivery of their new M6 Convertible directly from the factory and drives on to tour the Bavarian countryside. And for the serious BMW-enthusiast, each customer will have the opportunity to meet with the automaker's famous car designers, and be given a private tour of the BMW factory in Munich. Also included in the package are two round-trip business class tickets on Lufthansa® to Munich, Germany, gourmet meals, and luxurious accommodations for four nights. Upon completion of the trip, their new vehicle will be shipped back to the States for immediate delivery. The trip is scheduled for Spring 2007.

Bold and uncompromising, the BMW Individual M6 Convertible stands alone. The unmistakable roar of its 5.0-liter, V-10 engine delivering 500 horsepower at your command and the precision handling, M Variable Differential Lock, and Electronic Damping Control make every trip extraordinary. Its on-board computer, GPS navigation, and Voice Command System merge driver and auto into one intelligent entity. At the heart of this incredible machine is a Formula 1 inspired, V-10 engine with 10 individual throttle butterflies capable of revving up to 8,250 rpm thanks to its sophisticated design and knock control systems. Coupled to a seven-speed Sequential Manual Transmission with Drivelogic®, it can launch you from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 exhilarating seconds.

A photo and description of the Limited Edition M6 Convertible appears on page 97 of the 2006 Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. The opportunity to learn more and order this magnificent machine and experience begins at 12 noon EDT on Wednesday, October 18th when you call 1-866-303-2696. Neiman Marcus BMW M6 Sells out in Record Time

One Minute And Thirty-Two Seconds
Christmas will come early for 50 North American Neiman Marcus customers who managed to place their calls into BMW to order the new 2007 BMW M6 Convertible that was featured in this year's Neiman Marcus Christmas Book, as it went on sale yesterday at 12.00pm.

As the clock struck noon, the phone lines were jammed with buyers who wanted to be sure they were among the first in the U.S. to own the just-introduced Limited Edition M6. The 50 Convertibles sold out in a mere one minute, thirty-two seconds.

Billed as the "must-have" automobile for the person who has everything, the luxury convertible made its U.S. debut at the unveiling of the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book in Dallas on October 3rd. Built especially for Neiman Marcus the U.S. limited-edition models feature custom Ruby Black exterior finish accented with Piano Black trim elements, and power sports seats wrapped in a custom Gold Brown shade of supple BMW Individual Merino leather.

BMW Individual allows customers to build an exclusive, personalised vehicle that matches their most exquisite requirements. This covers materials, finishes, colours and equipment, and stretches as far as their imagination can take them.

Australian BMW customers have long been supportive of the BMW Individual concept, and for 2007 delivery the BMW Individual M6 Convertible - as designed for the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book - can be specified for an Australian buyer, if requested.

The BMW M6 Convertible will be revealed in Australia by Chris Bangle, Chief Designer of the BMW Group, at the Australian International Motor Show at Darling Harbour next week.

Australians keen for a taste of the fastest accelerating convertible BMW have already snapped up the 2006 allocation of six M6 Convertibles, which arrive in December, just in time for Christmas.

The M6 Convertible is powered by the same 507 bhp Formula 1 inspired V10 5.0-litre engine as fitted to the M5 Sedan and M6 Coupé. In May, this engine was awarded the prestigious International Engine of the Year accolade for the second year in a row by a world-wide panel of eminent motoring judges.

The BMW M6 Convertible features further motorsport-bred technology such as the M Variable Differential Lock, and Electronic Damping Control as well as precision handling and steering.

The high revving V10 redlines at 8,250 rpm and is mated to a seven-speed Sequential Manual Transmission with Drivelogic, which can launch the car from 0-100 km/h in just 4.8 exhilarating seconds.

The M6 Convertible goes on sale in Australia on 26 October, priced from $295,000, with the first customer deliveries just prior to Christmas.
