Driven by HvS at Sport Auto, my guess is Nordschliefe 7.97s/8.05s with corsas/standard p zeros or contis and Hockenheim 1.12.9s/1.14.4s with corsas/standard p zeros or contis. The super test example of the R8 could well also be equipped with magnetic ride and ceramic brakes.
Why? Looking at and comparing weight, power-to-weight and weight distribution. Just theory - admittedly - but anyway...
- The RS4 did with corsas (and SS+ & ceramic brakes) in super test 8.09s NS and 1.15.4s: beating this like-for-like is a no-brainer.
- The AM V8 did NS 8.03s/8.13s and HH 1.14.8s/1.16.7s with corsas/standard tyres: I am very disappointed if the R8, which after all is supposed to be Audi's sports car, does not beat this not too impressive showing.
- The 911 CS (997, rwd) did 8.05s NS and HH 1.14.5s with standard tyres: this is already a tough but not in any way impossible target.
- The 911 Turbo (996, awd) did 7.56s NS and HH 1.14.6s with standard tyres: this is too much for R8 at the NS but maybe on par at HH
- The Gallardo clocked an incredible 7.52s NS and HH 1.11.8s with standard tyres: there is no scope whatsoever to beat this.
Based on other car comparisons so far, the expected impact of corsas is 5-10s on NS and 1-2s on HH.
