Post Pics + Story: Gran Turismo Nurburgring 2010 Part I (Audi RS5 focus)

This post is seriously overdue. I'm sorry but "other things" happened first, but I hope you will enjoy the pictures and the short story anyway.

Imagine the most famous track in the world with almost no other traffic. This is the ultimate Nurburgring experience, organized by Gran Turismo Events with auto motor & sport as the main partner.

I was there as a driver, passanger and a photographer...

I'm sure they will organise this event next year as well, so please let me know if you're interested
and I'll pass your contact details along. I drove a rental car, more about it in the "Part II" thread.

All pictures copyright, but feel free to link to this thread.

Audi R8 V10 and the Audi RS5 at the Karousell. Morning hours, no traffic yet. Just perfect for a photoshoot.
Just waiting for the MB SLS, we can hear it roaring...

Ahh...there it is. The SLS sounds absolutely wonderful.

Well, why not a Bell jet helicopter in the background to complete the picture?

Of course I got to fly as well, one "lap" around the Nürburgring in a heli.
More pictures to follow in the "Part II" thread.

Notice the projection for the rear camera.

Finally time for a passanger lap in the Audi RS5 around Nordschleife.

    Passing a bike

    Say hello

How far above 200 km/h? This is probably around Schwedenkreuz, but I could be wrong.

Down the foxhole. Unfortunately a minibus doing sightseeing blocks any high speed attempts.

If you drive too fast down here, without control, there are two pictures in the "Part II" thread that will work as a warning.

The R8 with much more power stays close, close always ready to overtake up the Bergwerk.

Passing more bikes at Hohe Acht, the higest place on the circuit.

The sign R8 V10 ahead, and one in the rear view mirror...

Many, many thanks for everyone who made this possible. Gran Turismo Events, AMS, "the driver" and many more.

    Nice!

    You've drove the RS5?
And how is he on the track?
They say that a BMW M3 is better, is it true?

    "He" = the car, RS5.
