    '13 BMW M550d xDrive 0-250 km/h

    Sounds brilliant for a diesel. I estimate that was around 4.5secs for 0-100kph. Its fast.

    The torque is impressive as well as the sound, good job BMW. I hope Audi steps up and shows up what they've learned from LeMans.

    About 18-19 secs 0-200
    28-29 secs 0-250

    good for diesel!!

    ..r18tdi has only one turbo but it's enough to achieve incredible spec data

    could be a better result if the driver put the gear @ 4.400rpm instead over 5.000

    I thought exceptional would be a more suitable word to use.

    the first Audi "S" Diesel Model is on track... first official Infos ~2nd Quarter 2012.

    If the market demand is high = more to come.

    Dont forget the base price in Germany for the BMW 550xd is ~20.000,00 Euro higher than the BMW 535xd.

    That's a fab news from audi and waiting time is not so high.

    Can you tell us if it's a biturbo,triturbo or another engine-strategy?

    Very interesting... Looking forward to this. And I hope Audi works out an "easier" engine with say a biturbo strategy instead of this (It works bloody brilliant now, but how's the durability in 5 years?) rather complicated engine.

    +1. The tech in the M550dx sounds seriously complexed, I'm sure they had their reasons for going this route but has this been at the expense of durability.

    ..what about the 2.0l bi-tdi engine? will we see finally on the new a3 and next golv vii? this engine is currently available for amarok pick-up (180hp)and audi has to challenge bmw 125d (biturbo-218hp-450nm)

    I have read somewhere that Golf VII GTD will powered with 2.0 TDI bi-turbo developing 230 +/- hp...
    I supose that we are going to see that engine all over VAG range in near future!

    ?till today I read only about golf vii GTI 2.0 tfsi developing 230hp and gtd 190hp ( http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/n...k-7-2012-01-30 ),never read about the same amount of power on the tdi.I hope your info it's true,will bring audi over bmw on 2.0 tdi engine

    This engine will be the makings of the Q5. The chassis is so capable of coping with more.

    Autocar are one of the ones saying the GTD will get 220hp plus they say the GTI will muster 260hp.
