    Radiator options for 01e

I've got a small leak on the right side where the core is crimped to the plastic end tank.

My question is, since I've got the 01e and hence am not using the automatic trans cooler, what options are there for a non-RS6 specific radiator?

I checked against the Euro S6 & A6 manual cars and the fitting were wrong. I did find this one for real cheap on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Radiator-Paci...omotive&sr=1-2
I think I would call the company and find out some details first, especially as it's not Prime so return might not be as easy.

You can use the radiator from an S6 or A6 4.2 if you delete all the cooling associated with the afterrun pump.

Going off memory here, I'm pretty sure there were 2 different versions of afterrun setups.

The US spec one we all know has the valve on the driver's side frame rail that supplies coolant directly from the 3rd port on the radiator.

Another version I've seen just recirculates the coolant via a different route using some strategically placed check valves (I assume similar to the 2.7T setup).

Correction: it wasn't US vs ROW as far as I know, but just a general changeover somewhere in the middle of 2004. Second type you mention would be earlier cars.

I pulled the rad this wknd.
Found the leak was from the cooling fan cross brace chaffing on three of the rad bars. Pin hole size leaks.

Got lucky and was able to braze them shut with some map gas and aluminum rod!
