MTM TCU, best $125 spent on my car.

Even the stock TCU is adaptive, and has that early shifting habit unless trained by driving differently...

The MTM chip keeps my shift points a bit higher, but the car feels so sluggish cruising in 5th at 40 something that I can't resist staying in tip most of the time.

Well that sucks. Any other thoughts on how to get this done? I can't even find it on the MTM Website, and I cant image how long it would take to send it there and back.

You call them? They've updated a few Tcu's last year. This...gearbox on its own though.

The MTM website shows Prestige Imports in Miami as a US Dealer. Maybe they took Hoppen's spot as MTM dealer in FL when Hoppen when out of business? I'd give them a shout but don't pay more than $100-$150 for it as that's all it cost at Hoppen. Also, keep in mind that contrary to popular belief this modification does NOT reduce shift times at WOT.

I have spoken to Jakob at Prestige. He has stated they can source the chip, but has no one to install (solder). He also said he could send it to Germany and have them install. I find that strange, since they are the NA MTM Dealer. I have asked to just have the chip sent to me and I can install, we shall see if thats a possibility.

That's what I did when I bought mine from Hoppen. They sent me the chip, I had my tuner solder it in...

Unless you're experienced with surface mount soldering, you won't be able to install the chip yourself. It's not plug and play; the stock EPROM has to be desoldered and then the MTM has to be soldered.

I would jump all over Kevin's offer of $100 for his MTM TCU. That is an amazing deal.
