Yes we have them. Cant tell a difference. Not shure if its worth the $75.00, but they are supposed to last longer.

I have an Eisenmann exhaust and wanted to install new air filters. Generally, I've felt K&N is a reputable brand. I bought a set on ebay ($68 for the pair) and will install them shortly. Thanks for everyone's comments. I'll let you know what I think once they're installed.
CW
I use them. Installation is easy, will take 20 min.
My car has a reduced fuel consumption of 1L/100 km, since i have them installed.
Cheers

Recognize that K&N filters are oiled. Be careful when you clean and re-oil them. Use as little oil as possible. There have been instances where the heat of the engine vaporizes a small amount of oil on the filter where it gets sucked through your intake system. It can readily foul your MAF sensor, giving you a Check Engine Light and a trip to the dealer to have it cleaned. I had them on my last Audi but have left them off my RS6 because the minor (if any) performance pick-up hasn't seemed worth it.
If the K&R filters were any better than the stock filters, I would expect that they would be standard equipment on all BMW M cars and Audi S cars for the fee dollars more. Have you priced a stock air filter for an RS6, they are FREE!
I had an K&R filter on my M3, and I doubt there was any difference in performance! It was a nice 'add on' but not worth the extra bucks in my opinion.

looking at an RS6 with the Eisenmann already on it. what are your thoughts after living with it for awhile? is it too loud?
also, can you put the tips from the Audi sound-enhancing exhaust onto the Eisenmann? i prefer the Carbon colored look.
thanks!
rtbarry,
Good stuff. I certainly enjoy the sound. Some have said on this forum (and at least one passenger) that it's a bit loud, but I think it's completely appropriate. The car I purchased came with the sound-enhancing exhaust, but I wanted more. It's not unpleasant to me in the slightest, but I can understand how some might not find it agreeable. I just love pulling up to a red light at idle. It sounds right.

rtbarry,
Sorry I didn't add this bit in about the tips. The tips are welded onto the muffler. They're not interchangeable. However, if you don't mind a little cutting, welding and finishing, you could certainly graft the tips.
Oh, and for reference, I ride a Ducati with aftermarket Arrow 54mm pipes and used to race a flat 12-cylinder with straight pipes in IMSA. I like noise!
Still, I don't think the Eisenmann is at all annoying.

That would solve the problem...just use heat resistant paint!

The damn filters are only 80-90 bucks. Worst comes to worst, you're just stuck with a pair of filters you can use forever!
