Any changes in engine oil required due to the severe reduction of zinc additive lately ?
This was done to protect sensors in pollution sensors for late model cars, but does a lot of damage
especially on cars with tappets, but also on more modern engines.

Question for the experts: I'm about to buy an RS6 with 124k miles. Timing belt was last done in 2013 for the 75k mile service. I'm curious how folks manage their 100k+ services... Do you simply restart the first "35k" service schedule at 115k miles (40k miles after the last timing belt), and adjust everything off of that? Maybe I answered my own question, just curious whether folks have made deviations after 100k.

I also found a service schedule from an import shop that said airbag replacement is every 14 years, regardless of mileage... does anyone do this?

I saw that airbag notice in the manual as well, but after some research I found and article that covered this concern on The Telegraph. There is an industry standards committee called 'Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders' that as of 2010 based on their research changed their original replacement recommendation (10 years) and updated one (15 years) to 'never' based on long-term testing results.

For the rest of the maintenance items the way I look at this as a recent buyer is that no matter how rosy of a picture the previous owner may have given the only way to be sure of your current state is to get it done, especially for the items that carry risk of damage if not attended to (that would be timing belt and company for sure!) so in the spirit of Nike, Just do it!

Thanks for that update! The reference I had with the airbag mention was 2010, so sounds like it was superseded by what you cited.
