Ok not much going on over here in NJ, so here is my new mod Dahlback

air intake.....the throttle response feels much nicer, don't hear much but I haven't really pushed the car since the install, not sure what its good for maybe 5-15 hp, looks incredibly aggressive. Bought it from Dahlback NA, (Danny) and installed by KMD Tuning in Westwood, NJ (Dion)

of course this thread would not mean much without the pics so here they are....

I've seen this install before, but have to ask....

Are those AIR filter elements allowing air from the engine compartment to flow in??? If so what does that do from a HEAT standpoint????

    Thanks.

Mike I'm not 100 percent sure but with the air flow coming in from the vents I'm not sure I'm gonna see a problem.

Time will tell, I haven't heard much complaints about this mod at all.

i had the Dahlback air intake on my Rs6 last summer and had to go back to OEM, heat was really problem FYI it was 45'C  . the only solution from Dahlback is a shield to cover to bottom half of the filters

i wander maybe drilling vents on the hood located above the filters will do.

It is very beautifull obviously. But heat is definitely the question. May be not in sweden where is located Dahlback but not everywhere in the world.

As for the vents, they need to be the top of the box around each filter. Otherwise heat will go out by those vents. And never ever fresh air will go through those vents to the air filters.

Or may be you put to NACA Intakes on the hood with hoses directly to each filter and you isolate the half bottom of each filter with a shield.

Anyway, having a temp sensor in the air intake is a must when you start to upgrade this key part of the engine. Because it will tell you right away if there is a gain or a loss.

    Cheers,
    Frederic

thing is that those intakes need the mtm hood. or just a hood ingeneral. they are great, wheni put heat shields in it only got better. u could tell.its not hard or expensive to do. but thats what gets me is that DB doesnt do it already for us in the south?????? ive been looking for a hood for a while. and the mtm hood has always been a idea.(havent acted but its been in the back of my mind) but once theres a hood we like thats preatty. and puts air right on them...... it will be more then worth it. anyway i like itmore on thehighway then from adead stop. ps... winters coming soon.

Mike thanks for your observation, I guess I wasn't thinking about it at all.

mi021le, can you get a pic of how you set up your heat shields?

    Thanks!

the heatshields made a difference. but when we heat rapped the pipes the intake temp went down 40 degrees.

Never got KMD to do the heat shields yet, but the wrap seems to be like a great idea.
