Pictures Pics: Audi RS4 (one of a kind!), BMW M5 Hartge and RUF R Kompressor

This journey started from Sweden with a flight down to RUF in southern Germany to drive a 996C4 Kompressor back home.
Once at RUF I had the opportunity to test two other remarkable vehicles. It's a tough job but someon's gotta do it

    RUF R Kompressor, based on the Porsche 997 Carrera S. 435 hp..and 0-200 km/h in 13.5 seconods.

RUF Cayman under development...this car has the most direct steering I've ever experienced! (yes, it's snowing!)

Now to the rest of the story...

Let me start by saying: This Audi RS4 is NOT white. The color is "Suzuka Grey Pearl Effect." This is a special paint supplied by quattro GmbH, at roughly 2.500 Euros extra.

The M5 has undergone a major facelift and changeover at Hartge. To the better if you ask me, the car felt very good on the road.
The M5 has "no limits" so it's able to go all the way up to maximum speed. As you can see it was pouring so there was no chance of testing this.

I don't have the full specification of what's changed in the M5, but I hope to get it soon.

The RS4 is stock except for Abt de-limiter.
The M5 had about 35000 km and the Rs4 about 2500 km.

We did some tests of the acceleration (80 km/h and up) that I hope to bring online soon. Conclusion: The M5 is faster, but when I gave the RS4 a second ahead it felt like ages before I caught up.

Two very powerful cars face to face. I wonder what they are saying to each other?

RS4 label and Hartge label. Nothe the Hartge exhaust

Far better looks than a stock M5

    The Audi RS4 from behind

    Audi RS4, M5 Hartge and a Porsche 996 C4 Convertible.

Don't underestimate the Porsche... This one comes with a RUF Kompressor and at least 410 horses.

The grill is black on black

This RS4 is derestricted by Abt. Warranty still intact.

Interior of the Audi RS4. Special order...second to none!

Would you like to have this as your working place?

These seats are very comfortable, and the support is great.

    M5 Power!

    For me I see white!

Is that a new color for the RS4?

    Erik, very nice write up and F A N T A S T I C pictures! Very nice!

Ok, so I don't want to be an A Hole or anything but I still see "white". Pearl White maybe, but white all the same. But, I like it all the same! Is it possible to get the code for that color Erik?

The two cars face to face reminds me two Sumo fighters .

The color is "Suzuka grey Pearl effect from quattro GmbH"
Not sure I can get the color code.

Here are some more pictures that inspired the owner of the RS4 in this story. Please note that these are not the same cars.

OK, now I'm just being an A Hole... but that is not silver. You can call orange, "Flamenco Red" but it doesn't change the fact that its orange. That is a White Pearl. One I've never seen before, but white pearl all the same. A color code would shut me up.:trash:

I just confirmed the name: Suzuka Grey Pearl Effect

It is hard to take photos that justify the color.

There is no doubt in my mind that you're telling me the truth. I believe the color is called Suzuka Grey Pearl Effect. In fact, as with all Audi (quattro cars as well), the Pearl Effect almost always indicates a color having pearl in it as opposed to metallic (the metallic colors say "metallic" in the name as opposed to "Pearl Effect").

My point. metallic is not compatible with white, but pearl is. Its an off white base with pearl tri coat. I really would love to get the code so I can do a spray out. If at all possible, it'd be cool to have. I'd like to see it in person.

"This RS4 is derestricted by Abt. Warranty still intact."

    Dear Erik.Are you sure?Because i am not...

    Dear Mr. XXXXXX,

thank you very much for your e-mail and your interest in our RS4 products.

Please find attached our RS4 data sheet within you can find all information about the RS4
V/Max limiter upgrade to approx. 282 KmH.

The upgrade costs 1.500 € plus 16% tax.

If you decide for our upgrade of your RS4 speed limiter you can send your ECU to us and we
will than prepare the powerupgrade for you. Please note that we use the payment in advance
process. That means that you please first transfer us the money before you send us the ECU.
If the money is on our account (including delivery costs to send you the ECU back) we can than
prepare you the upgrade. But first of all we will have to check whether we can offer the V/max
upgrade to your certain engine type. It is therefore important that you please fax us the first page
(left side) of your service book and in addition ask your garage for an failure print out of your ECU.
The garage can prepare this sheet with the diagnosis instruments. On this two papers we will find
all information we need to check whether we have the V/max upgrade ready for your RS4 engine.

With the warranty, you will lose the warranty from Audi if you make our V/max upgrade, but Abt
Sportsline will be able to give you the warranty than.

    Thank you very much.

    We would appreciate your order.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for further information and any other questions.

    Kind regards
