lol..ty ..i am in love with 'er already ..hoping it's not the nightmare i was warned about.. but i just survived maintaining a 4.2 phaeton till it was totaled by a deer..so i'm sure i should be fine ..i already see the trans fluid n filter is half the price of the phaetons..lol..and it looks like the timing belt will be a bit cheaper as well..so ,i hope it treats me good..i already want another one just to track n play hard with..this one is just too nice ..lol ..steve

Indeed, definitely aware. May have already been taken care of, there's a note in the Carfax to the effect "warranty claim, transmission". Wasn't able to find out what was done, but the driver's side exhaust temp thermocouple PWM conversion box is marked in pen "LEFT" so it looks like the engine may have been pulled at some point. I may switch it to 6MT if it does go. I did this with my 2.7T (when the TC went) and really enjoy it except for the very short 1st and wide spread between 1 and 2.
If you go 6MT, you need the right transmission. I went with a Euro TDI transmission (DQT 01E), which still had a short first gear but the 1st to 2nd spread wasn't bad and the 6th gear was heavenly for cruising. As it stands, I now have that transmission, along with every part needed to convert an RS6 to manual, for sale as a complete kit, after an unfortunate accident. See my part out thread for details..
Anyway, I'm sure you'll enjoy the car! I loved mine every minute I had it. Might have to get another one down the road... Not yet though.
RS6 #1, 01E, 2.5" straight pipes, AMD Stage 1 6MT tune, 460awhp/530awtq on AMD's Mustang dyno. TOTALLED.. RS6 #2, Ebony Black Pearl on black/silver combination with carbon, up and running with 6 gears and AMD tune.
Also I suppose I should make the VIN post.. 905623, Ebony Black Pearl exterior, ivory interior, carbon trim, 138k miles, was totalled at the end of 2015. I was the third owner. It was originally purchased from Carlsen Audi in Palo Alto, CA. Second owner purchased it and moved it to Portland, OR. He also purchased the MTM TCU tune and a Eurocharged ECU tune during his ownership. I purchased it at 95k miles in January 2013 and put a little over 40k miles on it. During that time, I converted it to a manual (at around 130k miles) because the auto was starting to slip between 1st and 2nd under 3/4+ throttle. I had Jason at AMD in Seattle perform the tuning on it after the swap. I hugely enjoyed it as a manual and would probably have kept it until it just wouldn't go any more, but the snow/ice storm we had decided otherwise. Now parts from it are hopefully helping keep other RS6's out there in tip-top shape for a bit longer.

..the 1st gear on the auto is pretty much worthless too..lol ..too bad the 6 spd "auto" in my phaeton wasnt strong enough.. the gears in that make my 5400 lb phaeton feel almost as nimble as the rs6 ..would be fun in the rs6 ..but yeah i cant wait to do a manual.. i need to put funds aside ..i cant stop driving this car..it's like a brand new car ..no shakes , rattles...rolls..lol ..smooth , straight ..it's not as plush as my phaeton but its just as smooth n quiet ..i feel more cracks in the road with the R ..lol..i drove 200 miles round trip to get a car wash today for no apparent reason...

Anyone have any information on 904750? It's listed for sale with 97k miles.
