    I have a gut feeling Porsche is behind those brakes. Anyone care to confirm this?

    Just as long as they work and are durable then there's going to be a few happy campers.

    I'm hearing that they will be an option, but be prepared to spend £3000 for them in the uk!!

    I can't justify that for day to day use.

    As always, great post Fab - thx.

    The price indeed seems very steep but it is I suppose dependent on personal preferences and needs. For example, the brakes are apparently according to Dave's sources broadly same money as sat nav + TV + adaptive lights + CD changer - a very common spec at least in Germany. This is of course a strange reference point for assessing the price but it stems purely from my personal and subjective lack of price adjusted appreciation for sat nav rather than anything else and no offence intended. In the A8 W12, Audi promises a unsprung weight saving of 5kg per corner with ceramics. I wonder if you can sense that kind of a weight saving in the real world in agility and composure. I remember reading that Autocar at least felt that a 911 with ceramic brakes feels subjectively more alert and better damped also in the real world. If it is worth all the money in the real world and outside track use I have no idea - probably not as Nordschliefe has argued before on this forum.

    We should remember things go forward and not backward. The first components in PCCB Porsche did offer in the begining when PCCB was new is not bound to be the same ingrediens material now. Just a reminder.

    So we should not refer to old post by guys not liking new tecknologi.

    My opinion is pccb do last longer than steel ditto, and fore sure is not braking bader than steel ditto. Prices are as well comming down.

    Ps. An exampel a DTM karbonfiber pad or rotor its like a bag of popcorn in weight, i carryed them, its unreall light. Unsprung weight is crucial in racing, but even kicks up the driving joy in road cars, so why not. Ds

    This special Audi B7 RS4 doesn't have only "Audi Ceramic" brakes, but also a superb tan leather interior from "Audi Exclusive" quattro GmbH.

    Dave, that does sound pricey, but a fair amount cheaper than the same option on a 911TT no?

    I think this is the exact reason Chevy did not introduce the new Z06 with that option. Too many would not take it as it would be out of budget. They were saying once price could be brought down more than maybe...

    I got carbopads and they can take it, when you give it to them. Well its not 100% carbon but its one of component.

    Edit. Just so no read wrong, karbonfiber and PCCB is not the samme. But my point is that unsprung weight is.
