Good question actually ! ! !
Do you use Mintex, Ferrodo, EBC or any other A+ brand for the front brake pads of your RS6 ?

So far I've only tried the stock ones. Got the front pads and rotors changed at 25K miles, and they put stock pads back on. They work for me.
OEM Pagids for the street (which are very close to the Pagid 4-2-1 black, carbon based). Pagid Grey RS15, ceramic based for the track events.
See the link for interesting quantitative info on Pagid Race Pads:

For the street, I use OEM.
For the track, I've used Pagid Grey and Pagid Blue. The Blues feel good enough and they're more rotor-friendly than the Greys. The Greys do have some serious initial bite, though.

No, not on the Internet. Both times I purchased them from my local Audi garage.Originally posted by Mr Balsen

thanks for the link to PAGID, very interesting to see the characteristics of the OEM pads and who makes them.
I'd upgrade but with free replacements under warranty I'll stick with OEM for now.
Thanks again for the info!

EBC has just released there "Red" ceramic pads for the RS6 in the US. Not available in the UK yet (about Sept. I think). I ordered some cause I hate how filthy the OEM ones are. AJUSA.com are shipping me some down to NZ.
EBC should suit NZ, as long as you leave the fast stuff to some nut in a Honda. I hope you are not a victim of marketing hype.

Will receive them in the next few days. The "Red" pads have good reviews. I think "Stoptech" now endorse them as well. Time will tell and I'll let you know.Originally posted by Nordschleife

Given the extent of work you went through to get them shipped to NZ, I hope you plan to doing a write up comparison of both stock and the new Red Label EBC pads.
We are optimistically looking for short therm braking distance values if they can be taken.
Short term and long term squeal updates. Decibel level measurements not required.
Short term and long term updates on fading.
Long term update on longevity.
Just keep updating this same thread please, so we can keep it all together.
Dont forget to make a fair comparsion, so before you change make sure to use the stock pads in god old spanking way.
Mainly what i wanted when lokking for pads for RS6 was a pad that dident wear down so fast as stock do, basicly whit that the rest of the benefits came along of course. Thats also why BMW Ring taxi dont use stock pads on their cars as well. All should match pads on their cars in the way they drive ofcourse, then we would not have so much complaint about brakes in genrall i think.
Its hard some time to compere pads if in different tiers for exampel. I ran my CSL street tiers and stock pads, and now changed to R-tiers and special Carbo Pads from Ring racing at nurburgring used in VLN. Instanly i notice a better pad, but its not so easy to give feedback correct beccuse not used the same tiers.
So it will be fun to change to stock pads now on the same r-tiers to really give out the differens more specifick. Fun to do the same whit slicks, but then of course other things then brakes and tiers will get abused on the car riding slicks.
I better get me a life in steed of this things whit cars
