throw a convertible top on that one, sign me up...
Looks to me more like a B7 S4. Which will possibly be available in convertible as well.
But an A6 sized coupe would be kind of interesting, to compete with the likes of M6 and CL55 and such. I'd hit it!
I would prefer this one though!!!

That first picture looks like a 6-series (competitor) with that steeply sloped roofline. I like that second picture too, but this resembles a CLS with the roofline. Just curve that beltline and slightly elongate the deck and you have a CLS's basic shape. But there's something unique about the rear - can't say I actually like it (yet), but it's interesting. The way the curved bottom edge of the taillight goes through the trunklid to the other taillight creates an interesting shape with the line that curved line that runs from top of the taillight, through the spoiler (I like this a lot!) and to the other taillight's top edge. I think I know the part that doesn't fit - those two small red lights in the center of the trunklid. Cover those up with your fingertips and the rear looks better, in my opinion.
Anyway, I'm interested but cannot say that a coupe is a lot more appealing to me than a sedan. More pics, anybody?
I like that second one! If it is official Audi, hooray. If not, send your resume to Audi.![]()

wfg, Hans.
the most beleivable is the third one, the 2nd doesnt look like an Audi....
These are deeply stupid cars for fat arsed German crooks. One of the reasons Audi has, so far, avoided chasing this market. You think I'm exagerating, go check out who is buying them in Germany! I believe they are compulsory in Cheshire also.
Leave it to Mercedes. BMW does it better. Nearly every Coupe is heavier than the Limousine or Avant equivalent.
If somebody wants a big 2 door car, how about the Bentley Continental GT, or an Aston Martin DB9 or a Ferrari 612?
Mercedes, which is suffering real sales agony thought they would plug every available gap in the market, and discovered there are good reasons for these gaps, nobody wants what fills them. Seriously cars can be too compromised by being forced to fit roles the underlying platform was not designed for. You cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
For those that are interested in a large Coupe, there will be something, based on a shortened Maserati Quattroporte Aluminiium Space Frame. but if you drive one people might still wonder exactly what you do for a living!

I guess I'd be driving a hybrid mini-van, living in the suburbs and have 2.5 kids. That's the great thing about opinions! They're like assholes. Everyone's got one and nobody thinks their's stinks!!![]()

Erik's picture from Germany's Auto Motor und Sport shows the production version of the Nuvolari show car. I believe this model will be called the A5 and there will also be a convertible version of it. Like the Mercedes-Benz CLK, which looks more like an E-Class than the C-Class it is based on, the Audi coupe's styling has been moved on a bit so that it looks more like the A6, but it will be based on the new A4/ A6 matrix platform.
Audi has gone public with its new platform strategy. Basically the matrix concept will use the same basic archtitecture for both A4 and A6 models with the engine located behind front axle. The A5 coupe will be the first model to feature it and is expected to offer much improved weight distribution and handling dynamics. Per one of Nordschliefe's posts elsewhere on this forum, what is interesting about the matrix platform is that Quattro models feature a second transmission shaft to provide drive to the front wheels, with the primary shaft driving the rear wheels. Non-Quattro models drive the front wheels. The Quattro set-up will be radically different from anything we've seen to date on any production Audi. The combination of traction and handling should be quite stunning.
As you can also see from the photograph, the new Audi coupe will also have LED headlamps. We should see this car at the 2006 Franfurt show and it will go into production in 2007. At Geneva 2007, we should see the next A4 model (B8). My belief is that this will be the first Audi A4 that is head and shoulders above the BMW 3-Series.
As much as I respect him, I don't actually agree with Nordschliefe's post, Audi isn't introducing a brand new niche product; it is finally replacing the original Audi Quattro which was a coupe. About time too. The styling will be very similar to that of the new A4.
