RS4 release dates

When will the new RS4 make it over to the States? Will its release date be earlier in Europe? When might we see it in magazine reviews?

Well, a dealer employee I know of, that had an official A3 and RS4 meeting this week.
He was told May 2006 for RS4 in the States.

Damn, I hope he's full of shit.....

Europe will have them this summer.

now way!! may is way too late, should be around the same time as A3 3.2, that would be January 2006.

That's what I originally heard as well.
Dec 05 or Jan 06, but this was from AoA reps at a large Audi Stealership in LA, CA.
If it IS May 06, I'm going to die waiting.........

Here in Europe we will get the RS4 sedan around "September 2005" and the RS4 Avant around "Januari 2006".

If Europe/UK will get Avants in Jan of 2006, we should see our Saloons before than.

Quattro GmbH will make a run of Saloons, then move over to produce Avants correct ?

They make one model at a time ???

May 2006?? That sucks. That's absolutely horrible. But it sounds accurate - edmunds.com, though not incredibly reliable, has delayed the RS4 release date from summer '04 to summer '05 and now summer '06.

I guess that's their chosen strategy. Make us drool over it for more than a year and finally release it. But honestly, I think the hype is gonna be long over by then...I doubt they'll have much momentum in terms of interest, if you see what I'm saying. The attention will have turned to the new M3 by then - I only say this knowing the public has more interest in M3s than RS4s. I dunno...I would of thought summer or fall '05 would have been a more appropriate release date. The RS4 doesn't have the widespread reputation to be introduced 15 months before its release, like BMW did with its M5, the RS4's competitor. Is this just coincidence, or is Audi pretending it has the widespread rep of BMW's M5? It did this with the RS6 - pricing it at $10-15K more than its competitors when nobody had ever heard of the car. I personally think it only sold well because they imported so few - Audiphiles sprang for it, but nobody else noticed - that's why they still have RS6s sitting on lots today!

i wish it would be may 2006, because from what i heard it will come out no earlier then sep 06. And all the mags are saying late summer 06. So May 06 wouldnt be that bad.

My guess: Probably late spring, early summer 2006.

They will start to make them soon in Europe for a fall of '05 release there. The U.S. will most likely get to order them in the spring of '06 for a late summer early fall of '06 release here. Almost like the B6 S4.
