Couldnt agree more. I was so disgusted with this game.
Since I cant return software after it is opened I now use the disk as a coaster to place my german beer on and to serve as a reminder to try before I buy next time.
Waiting for GranTurismo4...

If you are referring to Grand Prix Legends than you are out of your element and you don't know what you are talking about.
The user groups have taken that game to extremes on graphics, full detail in the cockpit, full detail in the mirrors, supports the latest direct x 9 software, etc....
Graphics on that game are better than some of the newest games..
You have to check out a fully upgraded copy of GPL. It's pretty amazing.

the coolest racing game I know off, is Live for Speed. The second version of it is about to come out very soon.
Together with a Logitech Momo Racing Wheel it's absolutely brilliant.
Very realistic and the second version looks even more promising

We're talking about Need for Speed Underground 2.
You should read the topic first Aronis
!
Grand Prix Legends seems to be a different ball of wax. I have not played it yet, so I can't comment on it.
However, and on-topic, Need for Speed Underground 2 for the Playstation 2, as this is the platform I've played on, is just crap of a game.

Yes, I know the topic was NFS 2, but the response did follow a mention of GPL...
Anyway, Console Games SUCK anyway...
We have a GD Xbox and are playing Shrek 2 (my 8 year old with my help) and the game is GD exaserbating since you can't save the game when you want to, ie when it's time to go to bed....you have to finish a level, etc.....or loose all your hard work.
PC games are far better, more forgiving, modifiable, etc. and you can save any second you choose and close the game...
NFS did poorly in reviews by game magazines as well. More Porn than racing.

I'm also a die-hard LFS-guy... what a great game that is.
I play it with the Driving Force Pro 900° wheel and it's absolutely stunning. Can't wait for S2 too

Sorry Aronis. I know what you mean now, but my response was to the original post. My bad!!! I should have mentioned the game name explicitly.

No problem...
Now tell me more about Live For Speed...
I'll go poking around with Google...
Sounds fun.
I have raced a few times online with GPL, it's a hoot....

It's simply the best simulator so far. Great handling, cool cars, realistic sound and just heaps op Online fun!
The S1 release only costs 17€ or so ... If they'd ask 50€ like a normal game it would still be cheap. No competition so far ( perhaps from GTR and GT4)
Within this month the S2 release should be there... even more cars, tracks and upgrades. Even a totally new suspension and gravity simulation.

Just have a look at your left on the side @ "what is lfs"
