    Compare S4 vs. RS4

Engine: V8 with 410 hp and 480 Nm

So, mesh grille inserts, oval tips, 19" RS6 wheels, and are those front fender flares I see? Not very impressed but the blacked out grille looks good -- hope it's not just for the prototype

In the last pix it almost looks like a smaller RS6. I like it.

On Audiforum.nl/forum a member was told the following stuff by insiders.
Here's a translation for you guys

    "I've just made a quick phone-call.
Audi has been busy developing the RS4 for quite a while now and they have recently begun with heavy Nordschleife testing.
The RS4 from the pictures is equipted with a 425hp 'non-turbo' 4.2 V8 FSI engine. They are also testing a version that produces 450hp @ 9000 Rpm.
It does 0-200kph in 15 seconds and a round of Nordschleife should be done in less than 8 minutes.
-They are also testing a 7-speed tiptronic (DSG?) gearbox.
-Audi has also been busy with weightreduction and the new RS4 has e.g. an aluminium hood, doors, bootlid and front-mudguards.
The new RS4 should be presented in January 2005 at the Detroit Motor Show and otherwise on the 2005 Geneva motor show."

    Great!

This is an Abt version of an A/S4. Look at the number plate, its from Kempten.
You can usually spot Abt, they have a taste problem, like most tuners.

It is wonderful we have Nordschleife on this forum - to sort out out the wheat from the chaff.

Wow if those figures are reliable that's E60 M5 territory. Where's the RS6 gonna go:bigeyes:

0-200 in 15 is worst than B5 RS4 with stage I upgrades (chip and catback exhaust).

It smells like a M3 wannabe. :eye:

Lets hope that the RS3 come with two turbos

i agree.. i know some about abt but not that much..thanks

however, whatever it is.. an A4.. S4.. whatever, by whomever.. it is looking really good.

especially that 3rd large pic. the one where its driving over " linda" on the track.. looks like a very aerodynamically-flowing transportation cell. it has some very very nice curves!

OK, so I'm not ordering this one.

I want the real and true regardless of turbos or no turbos.
I care more about performance, times at the race track, than tuneability.

But I still the Abt AS4 looked great.

One thing these pics tell me is the amount of money that German tuners invest to develop tuning.

    Roll cage and everything fitted.

450 hp at 9000 rpm? Wow! I can imagine the sound of the 8 cylinder engine at 9000 rpm. Even the new m5 makes 8250 rpm. It would be a monster if it makes that much revolution.
