Very nice. Thanks for sharing. I like the way they intergrated the family face with the old body. Came out pretty good if short of awesome.

I love the Baby Beast. I have about 2,000 mi on it so far. Changed the exhaust & intake at 1,000 mi, right afterbreak in. Now it sounds like a Corvette, too cool. I am buying this one, just got out of a lease, never doing that again. Yes i will get the B7 if there are some major improvements over the B6. I have a Tippy trans now, not sure on the next one, we'll see.Originally posted by RS4Ever
how many miles do you have on it.. and is it leased? (supposing you sound like you are also looking to get teh B7)
Tip or Man?
and final question... are you enjoying it so far?

another difference is that the ceiling is lighter (in color).
according to the S4's that i've seen here in the states.. the ceilings are all dark dark grey - black.
i'm not sure about europe specs though...
this link shows the new S4 to have a grey ceiling.. looks more illuminated i think.. makes it look bigger.

personally, i dont like to look too flashy, more of a sleeper fan.. i think i would prefer it to still have 2 exhaust pipes instead of 4.

At least with that kind of diameter...looks like the exhaust from a BMW 3-series, one om each side.. :eye:
I love the looks of four tailpipes, but it should be something like 4x3-4"...definitely not under 3". That's my opinion.. :360:

I have to say that the new B7 S4 is quite a bit more radical than i expected. I have needed a few days to get used to it. Which doesn't mean I dislike it, it's just looks quite different from what I expected. The application of the new grille is not yet fully convincing. It needs to look far more integral to the overall shape of the car. Perhaps it is too large or just too new.
The Nuvolari and Le Mans prototypes do show that the grille will evolve into a stunning shape. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.
What has got me very excited is the rumour that a new A4 coupe utilising the bits from the revised S4 is also in the pipeline. This should look even more like the Novolari and be a real alternative to the M3.
Of course, the real test of the new A4 is how it drives. While it sounds as if the ride is dramatically better as well as having improved steering feel and directness, alas it is still a FWD chassis. Only a Quattro will do.
Ahhhh, i can just see the aftermarket potential already.

Tail end is nice work but I can't get over the BMW'ish / Asian face on this new S4. Too much Accord for my liking.
Bring on the Nuvolari! The only design that suited the new look!

Yes, but if you look carefully at the picture, you'll notice that the rear bumper/ fender actually has been moulded to accept the four tailpipes. I suspect that the production version of the new exhaust wasn't ready when this car was produced.
Anyway, these photos are great because they provide a much better idea of what the car will be like when we see it. Thanks for finding and posting.
ahh .. that makes sense.
thanks for pointing that out

taken from the pdf on autospies, just as its written everywhere else...
talks about the A4 exuast...
"A clearly crafted horizontal light-refracting edge gives the bumpers additional
shape. No less eye-catching at the rear end are the exhaust tailpipes which are
now 10 millimetres larger at 80 millimetres – a clear indication of just what the
new A4 models’ engines are capable of."
10mm larger.. i really must see this in person , they were only talking about the A4.. they didnt mention anything about the size of the 4 pipes in the S4.

what exactly do they mean in the sentence about weight reduction?... does the car have less weight? can someone please rephrase that sentence for me.
"the automatic transmission is designed to meet handling requirements such as weight reduction... what does that mean?
... also, nothing mentioned about an aluminum hood on the B7 (its probably there though).
below-also taken from the same pdf... (http://www.autospies.com/images/upl...4%20release.pdf)
"The S4 is available with a choice of 6-speed manual gearbox or 6-speed tiptronic
with dynamic shift program DSP and sport program. This automatic transmission
is designed specifically to meet demanding handling requirements: weight
reduction, rapid shifts and an optimised shifting strategy make sure that the
convenience of the automatic transmission is combined with the sports
performance specific to the S4."

I really hope it is the new FSI engine because if it is anything like the other FSI units coimng out of Volkswagen/ Audi then it will be just about the best V8 on the market. Probably irrelevant to this discussion, but the 4.2 FSI will in addition to delivering greater power also provide improved fuel consumption. I am hoping at least 28-29 mpg with normal use, 24 mpg on the autobahn and not less than 21 mpg when really going for it.Originally posted by PP

Fuel economy of current S4 - size of fuel tank = major source of irritation
LOL .....Fuel economy of current S4 - size of fuel tank = major source of irritation
so what is the size of the take on the S4? Hell, the RS6 is almost 20 gallons and I am still at the gas station almost every three days
