Thanks! We had that information on here like a month ago, but it caused some problems for some people so I removed it.

There is no official news on the Audi website yet...

I'll post more later, but now I'm going to enjoy a drink, steak and sauce. Have anice weekend everyone!

Lovely! I'll have to add one of those to my never ending wishlist then!

btw- any form of translation for this word: "Sportfahrwerk plus"?

Sounds like "Sporting-fire-works plus", of course, there's fireworks surrounding this Rs6 though!

    SportFahrWerk = Sport Drive Works?

Not sure what it means for an Audi, but that would be one translation for it. Granted I have not spoken much German recently, but I would think that it would apply to the suspension? Something like Sport Driving Suspension Equipment? Any other thoughts?

thats a beautiful color, my favorit color is black, Coz of my black S4 I didnt get the RS6 in Black, plus the Misano red is more attractive.

why wud they release such version like that, its unfair, ppl paid fortune months ago to get the RS6, the same thing goes with the new A8, a year only, and now a face lift, truly unfair.

That's pretty normal for products that have matured.

Either a face lift or a new version comes along, in the case of a car, this happens to keep people interested before the even newer version comes out, in this case it's the next Gen. A6 that's due in a few months.

The modifications to the majority of products, that are ageing tend to be the affordable and easy to do mods.

Sadly, It wont be too long before production stops and the RS6+ is Audi's way of telling us this.

I'll tell you something though, BMW GB messed up big time with the E39 M5:

We ordered ours late '99 for a early 2000 model, took delivery of it, don't forget this car was new to the British market. 6 Months after taking delivery BMW Both dropped the MSRP by an astronomical £8,000 but they also gave the headlights and tail lights a face lift. So now, our nicely specced £74,000 M5 lost 20% of it's value within six months. Bravo BMW

yes Kilnt I do understand what U sayin.

regarding the BMW I guess they r having a face lift for their 7sers and that I guess one year old car, at least here in our market, however, their face lift arent like the A8's, which is almost a major plastic surgery.

I like the strategy of creating a car that remain in its shape for5-7 yrs like in Audi MB N BMW, I believe the SL stay with no changes for almost 10yrs, maybe for slight tiny modifications.

Audi raises high-speed stakes past 155 mph European limit

    By AUTOMOTIVE NEWS EUROPE

MUNICH, Germany - Audi AG will break the voluntary 155 mph speed capacity that most European volume automakers have imposed on their high-performance cars sold in Europe.

The electronic cutoff will be raised to 174 mph on the Audi RS6 Plus.

The 155-mph barrier came into existence in 1987 with the introduction of BMW's V-12 750i sedan. That car could go faster, but BMW chose to limit its speed. Since then other luxury carmakers such as Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Volkswagen have adhered to the limit.

The car will not be sold in the United States.

Audi executives say advances in traction and braking justify raising the top speed. Audi is preparing to launch a series of high-performance cars, including a mid-engine Le Mans supercar and a coupe. Higher-powered S and RS versions of its A3, A4 and new A6 models also are being developed

The "official" cutoff is 155 mph. Only those who have actually tried it know otherwise (the governor is relaxed).

    top speed

Given that the RS6 Plus Avant is the final edition of the Avant, that leaves the rest of us with the sedan versions the final edition of the sedans. Not bad for US owners, even as some pine for the Avant, which is not available here.

    performance vs RS6 sedan

Seems like the plus has the same 0-60 performance as the RS6 sedan. Assuming added weight for the avant and different form factor, I wonder how the Avant compares the RS6 sedan in terms of road and track performance.
