Looking to buy a used instrument cluster.....any out there?

Hi, I have tracked down my interior light dimming and short on fuse 15 to a bad instrument panel. The last step is to actually take the time to pull it out and unplug to see if the short resolves.

There are some available new......from Germany.....but as you can image the price is quite high.

So there may be some used ones available here??

You might try calling these guys'. Had them rebuild the cluster on my old TT and it has been perfect ever since. Gauges and LCD is what they fixed but they might be able to troubleshoot yours.

I've got one. You would have to get the immobilizer addressed though, as Dave mentioned. If you're interested, send me a PM. It's on the shelf ready to go.

Thank you everyone for the input.

Is that immobilizer address something the dealer usually does? I was told by the service department if I DIY with the new part they would have to program it for me, less than an hours labor charge.

I contacted www.circuitboardmedics.com and they said they don't fix such parts!

    I'll check out modulemasters.com.

    P1054 I'll contact you.

    Thanks you,

The dealer should for sure be able to make the immobilizer work. I know there are also ways to recode the ECU to run regardless of the cluster and key, but the dealer route is probably the best.

    Screw the dealer!

i have all my ecu's immob3 cleared for 100 bucks

i just had my rs6 ecu "cheated" to fool the state emission test for readiness and it passed with flying colors today. So funny, I rolled right thru emissions. Lol

Did I say screw the dealer? Lol

Im about to get my final Porsche diesel check....then I will drive straight over and get stage 2 flash put on it. Doh

    screw your TD1

“Thank you for asking about our rebuild service. I talked with the tech and he said unfortunately this is something that we will not be able to help you with. There are a lot of other rebuild service out there we are just not sure what they do or do not work on. Sorry we can't help.
    Thank you,

    Cali“

    Hey just need more info.....

If I unplug my instrument cluster (to see if short goes away at fuse 15) will my car run after I plug it back in without doing the immobilizer coding????

Yes it will, unless you fry the cluster somehow.
