New chain tensioner.........noisy at start up.

Would appreciate some opinions from knowledgeable forum members. Just installed new chain tensioners and one is noisy at start up. Both are genuine Audi. Rattles for about 30 secs at cold start up and then quiets down. Car runs great and is dead smooth at idle. Thoughts ?

I'd say 30 secs is not normal.
Maybe the oil channel got partially clogged with something? With sealant while installing?

I was thinking that too. Did you add sealant to the metal gaskets when you installed them? I was pretty nervous about getting too much in there and having it squeeze into the oil feed passage, especially because of the little screen that would clog easily. I was very careful to only add a minimal amount and made sure it was far from the oil feed hole.
