staggered tire question can we run 245/40/19 front and 265/35/19

    Hi all,

A friend has a set of Michelin Pilot SS for sale as per above. The difference between the two tires is 1.5%.

Can our quattro system handle this sort of difference? Will it cause some unnecessary wear and tear? He's offering them to me for a really good deal so I'm exploring the impact.

    Thoughts/opinions welcome.

    Thanks all.

A better version of this setup would have been 245/40/19 and 275/35/19.
I personally wouldn't run it "as is". You could get the set, then sell 2 tires and get 2 new ones in the appropriate size.
