    Wheel Opinions - V702 vs OEM RS4

I have the itch for new wheels for my black/black RS6. I am torn between VMR V702 19x9.5 ET33 in Matte Gunmetal or OEM RS4 split spoke 19x8.5 in Titanium. In either case I think I will purchase Pilot Super Sports in 255/35 19 (as much as I'd like to do 275/30 19 on the VMR V702 wheels I am a little worried about rubbing). I will be keeping my factory RS6 18" wheels with Continental DWS tires for winter driving. Please let me know your opinions. VMR V702 are much less expensive than the OEM RS4 and do not require any spacers to get a flush look. Here are the pics of my car and cars that inspired me.

The VMR's just seem busy to me. I love the look of the stock 18's, and those Titanium 19's are pretty slick and simple at the same time. Your taste is really all that should matter, though...

    19x9 Triple-Split

I like the S5 Triple-Split rims. They are available in 19x9et33 at ECSTuning.
    Order here

From your 2 choices, I like the VMR over the RS4. Both are good looking rims though.

I have the rs4 wheel (w/o spacers) with Bridgestone s-04's in 265/35R19 with no rubbing on KW3 suspension. No issues (including a HPDE at Watkins Glen). But they are not fun to clean where the spokes are close...

I'm a snob and only go with Forged wheels. Stronger and lighter. The RS6 is a heavy car and it's nice to have the piece of mind that comes from a Forged wheel. Got a flat a few years ago with my BBS wheels and put the stock back on and I could easily feel the extra weight in the steering.

I agree @Hahn. I've had nothing bug forged rims on the RS6 once I went with 19" and you do feel the lightness in the steering. They are pretty strong as well.
In fact just got myself another set a few days ago.

Getting a new set of wheels is also one of the easiest ways to add your personal touch to the your ride.
Love when folks get different wheels so we can see something different, even if it is something I would not personally choose.
    Different is cool!

I just threw the gunmetal RS4 wheels I picked up on the other night. Ohhhh mama they look good! I had to take them off due to a balance issue but I plan to get them straightened/refinished, and I think they look fantastic with just 5mm spacers on stock ride height :-)

I have both sets. The 9.5 does not fit the pss 255/35 without some stretch. I have since gone with 265/35 pss

9.0 fits the 255 just fine

Over 20k miles on my V702s. No issues

Do you think that you could have done 275/30 on the V702 19x9.5? The diameter of that tire is really close to the stock 255/40r18.

    Yes

It was a toss up for me.

I would only consider 275/30 if you are lowered.
