Single feed is factory original on the RS6 k04. Twin feed is an upgrade but I'm not entirely sure it is a drop-in replacement without modification to the bearing housing. The major kits include a Thrust Washer & Thrust Flinger in addition to the items from the minor kit (probably worth the $20/ea). Pay close attention when you disassemble. The shaft and compressor wheel have material removed during the balancing process (may require re-balancing upon reassembly). The compressor housing is glued on and requires some gentle persuasion. I broke one bearing housing being impatient.
I highly recommend new CHRAs (although I didn't check if they are single or twin feed). They come pre-balanced and are a simple swap. http://www.midwestturboconnection.co...uct-p/3505.htm

Yes, ddillenger, you are correct, as the Turbine is mess up. LOL.....I ordered two shinny new CHRA (Central Housing Rotating Assembly) LOL.
Turbine is messed up.
Housing is cracked.
All in all $370 for new CHRA vs $70 to rebuild and (if done properly)$55 more the re balance, is an easy decision, especially since one side is cracked LOL. This explains the cup oil that was in the intercooler hose on that side of the car.

Mike, I have a mint set of used ones about an hour and a half from you if it's a time crunch.
Good decision and peace of mind. I've got ~3k miles on my turbos now. Checked lower intercooler hoses at 500, 1500 & 3k(oil change) with just a thin film present. Build up wasn't too bad before the swap having ~1 tbsp/side every oil change. Safe to say a whole cup on one side is ....excessive.

Ddillenger,
Thanks for the offer. I have the new ones on the way, due here tomorrow.
My mechanic expects to have the car finished by next Friday.

Did you pay 370 for both or 370 each?
Avus RS 6, RNS-E/BT/RVC, Eurocharged/MTM, SuperSports, PSS9/Hotchkis, SS Lines/EBC Reds, FMU/BMC, Sportec vents, 007's, 9500ci, Black Optics/Headlights/Trim/Rims, CC; coming soon: stage 3 snow meth
You can get brand new OEM spec CHRA's from TRL out of the UK (www.turborebuild.co.uk) for £165 per unit; Stage 1 Hybrid (upgrade bearings
and seals) £210; Stage 2 as above and including billet compressor wheel £230 ea. plus £40 for delivery. That is what I did when I replaced both turbos for the second time in the one ride I had here. The daily driver is starting to show signs of wear on seals as I'm getting a couple of table spoons of oil in the lower hose between oil changes now.... Damn.... Engine pull effort #6 here I come this spring. lol

JSRS6, $370 each plus shipping. They are from Midwest Turbo. Borg-Warner K4. Each side is different part number, the label with the proper part number is on the housing of the turbo.
Bigglezworth, The CHRAs are factor Borg-Warner as far as I can tell. What did each engine pull cost you? LOL...
I am waiting on a few more parts. He is starting to put stuff back together this week.
Other than leaking some oil, I doubt the messed up turbine fins would effect boost much.

Thanks, I got an email from Midwest a little while ago telling me just that, the turbo housing are different but the Central Housing Rotating Assemblies are the same.
ECS shipped the rear flange gasket today, so I am just waiting on the intake gaskets and tube of sealant from Pelican...The intake gaskets are on order directly from Audi....
